  1. All that being said, I like to think I'm quite a nice bloke in general, and if a lad came up to me and asked nicely to use my amp etc, my natural reaction is to say OK.....experience tells me to use caution however, and clearly some people just take the living p1ss....
  2. I'll let you know when they arrive and I've played with them a bit !... I mainly want them to play bass, and very occasionally guitar, "silently" rather than listening to music generally.
  3. A huge range of stuff indeed..another justification, if you needed one, for not going outside your chosen decade.
  4. Interesting...I've so far gone thru many decades of existence without giving Status Quo a single moment's consideration...
  5. The last time I let someone use my amp / cab ( they were going on before us)... by the time I got to plug in, the settings were all over the place ( not a big deal as easily re set) but...he'd somehow blown the little "tweeter" thing in the top corner of the cab..... As it happens I was at the time favouring a very bassy sound for what I was doing so didn't really care that much about the "squwarker" thing, I just pulled the wires off and carried on...but that's not really the point is it. The universal experience throughout seems to be that "you let people use your stuff, it gets Fkd.... "
  6. Sorry but I have to say I always loved Andy Gill's guiitar on Love Like Anthrax...
  7. At least no one's asked.. What's the best for Metal !
  8. The title made me think it was some kind of Banjo playing enquiry...
  9. As per the OP, being from the era when you generally just owned one bass anyway, I've never taken a spare to a gig of any kind... ( even in more recent times when I've maybe owned 2..! ) Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've never had a situation where I was stuck / screwed due to toting just the one.
  10. A totally 80s band is a great idea and, in my opinion, a sure fire winner... pointless to dilute the concept with a load of other random tosh. Your band, your way or the highway I'd say...!
  11. Thanks for the Sennheiser 206 suggestion ( my knackered cheapo crackly Sony ones have been an annoyance for ages now ) I just grabbed a new 206 set for £15.99 from evilbay... looking forward to plugging them in without having to wiggle the lead each time !
