As a addition to my questions about making a neck from oak, I'm wondering what any of you "build from scratch" guys would recommend for a Truss rod? Obvs there's double acting or one way, no doubt there's decently made and rubbish quality in both types, truss rods seem to not be overly expensive from what I've seen, but any to definitely avoid? I'd need to get a TR before going much further with the neck build idea, particularly as I'm intending to avoid routing by laminating a neck and using the centre strip glued in 'lower down' to leave a ready made channel for it to sit in.. don't know if this would suggest a particular type of TR? Any suggestions most welcome 👍

As it happens I got a Squier PJ that all the plastic fillum was still on, even on the machine heads.. I've been just playing it like that and still haven't stripped any of it off yet. tho I did peel the "get your free online lessons" (or whatever it is) sticker off 😁

The main strip down the middle by the looks of it, if I can find another piece I'll do a middle section as mentioned earlier to avoid truss routing... Of course I'll have to get a Truss rod unit too, the double acting ones seem to be favoured at the mo, I'll have to run that past @Andyjr1515 and see what the expert view is...

On some of those paranormal investigation things it seems they will often check the area for electrical / EMP effects and the like, as it's widely held that these give false impressions of activity, that's in fact explainable as above..

Interesting stuff.. It's not like they'd ever use this shlt as a weapon or anything...

That's mainly prob an issue with something with "soft furnishings" like a case, I had a Saxophone case once that was more than a bit whiffy..

I'd suggest that the preponderance of "retro" and "rehash" everywhere is down to the total lack of any real proper "new ideas" that work and go somewhere.. particularly in music, but also TV, film, whatever..

We often used to get a lamb shish on the basis it at least appeared to be solid lumps of meat, rather than the dodgy laminated ply thing the doner comes off... This is making me hungry now 😁
