    There was fad for a whole genre of that kind of stuff in the 00s.. AC-DC in banjo country hillbilly style, ABBA in heavy metal style, etc etc..

    The Nik Kershaw "Riddle" thing was apparently some gibberish he jotted down purely as a temporary "guide vocal" when building the track, to be replaced with the real lyrics version when written later on. In the event they thought "Ahh sod it, they'll do..." and so the story goes, that's the record that came out.

    If I wanted to try fretless one of those HB type things would be the obvious choice I can't think there would be much point putting a pre amp in it tho... You'd be better with an external one you could use with other stuff perhaps..

    Nice review 👍.. I don't much like the look of it but it certainly sounds OK and does the job, Im not bothered by a bass's weight either and I'm a skinny bloke! I think someone on here is selling one at the mo if I remember correctly.
