  1. Some of the non sync'd bits could certainly turn out as cool coincidences, we often built up background "atmospheres" that didn't matter if they were synced up in time or not. A case of making use of what you have and likely making you more creative, unlike nowadays when you've got literally everything at your fingertips, but....
  2. Nah, much of this blah blah blah is just a golden excuse to have everyone's trousers down, pure and simple
  3. Having two would've been very cool ! I seem to recall her one worked quite well but of course it was a huge step up from a mangy Woolies cassette player, so it's all relative. We used it as a backing machine playing live a few times as I recall. I remember we did some fairly large free "hippy" festival thing up north somewhere, and I don't think the audience quite knew how to take it... Backing tapes, a Punk (me) on bass, a small girl on single note Korg synth and another lady singing who was fairly distinctive, she was a very posh "Sloaney" type who was also I'm afraid to say a heroin addict. We went out as "Rehabilitation and the Needleworkers" 😁 happy days indeed.. .
  4. As regards pretty well all ordinary commodities.. much of this is obviously artificially created, the whole expectation has first been set up.. then we'll raise prices because we can...
  5. Great stuff πŸ‘, I remember the Wasp synth, I never had one but they had a few at a college in South London somewhere, that did a little electronic course in the evenings for a few weeks, a couple of us went a few times, but other than "playing with" their gear didn't really actually learn much. Surprising really that an "official" course like that even existed in those early days as it was all very new then..
  6. That is a very similar machine to the one that the rich girl I mentioned had, I think it's in fact the same model, I remember the "simul- sync" shtick.. this would've been 79, so not sure when these first came out.
  7. They might just "do" you for barter if you've got something cool and/or valuable to trade...
  8. "Pros" will do anything, if you've got the cash... 😁
  9. Angst in my Pants certainly rings a strong bell, I no doubt heard you on the Peel show or a mate may have even had the actual proper copy of the EP Did this come out in 1980 btw?
  10. In some experiment-y psuedo-electronic malarkey we did, (this would be about '79) we had a solitary Korg keyboard synth thing, one of the little ones with wooden sides and just a few up and down switches on the front edge, this could only play one note at a time. Anyway as luck would have it someone turned up with an identical one, wanting to "pass it on" I'm virtually certain it was nicked, and had a suspicion who from tooπŸ€”.. Still, needs must, and ironically the acquisition of the second one effectively doubled our synthesiser sound producing capability, in that 2 note chords now became possible 😁
  11. I ripped an old GPO phone apart to make a microphone, makes two in fact as you can use both ends as a mic. Stripped the wires and gashed various jack plug options on the end as required. I sussed out how to record diffent tracks on each "side" of the stereo on a cassette tape machine as I recall, doing away with the need for a second recorder ( which I didn't have anyway) Was In a band with a posh bird for a bit who actually had a cassette deck, called "symul-sync" something or other, that was designed to overdub one track, very sophisticated ... she also had a top loader video machine so we'd pile round there and watch assorted OGWTs and stuff. Clearly she had loadsa money 😁
  12. These are great.. classic amp you'd see in every rehearsal studio the 70s 80s, we mentioned these a while back, fond memories of Allan Gordon's in Leyton!
  13. Your Mrs had better get on the Internet fast then, don't know if they'd do next day delivery at this late stage tho... .. That is a cool, cool bass for sure πŸ‘
  14. I knew a bloke who was always swigging the old kaolin and morphine mixture, don't suppose you can get that from the chemist's anymore
  15. Now that is Epic, and astonishing.. 😁
  16. .... runnin' away from the ol' bill is all part o' the fun.... Innit
  17. Nope, it was someone else's demo project so "not my circus, not my monkeys"... I just played on it and let them do what they want with it !
