  1. And I used to have one o' them hats that's turned up at one side... 😁 Sounds like you're having fun with your mates there anyway... what bass did you get out of interest?
  2. We were all knobs when we were younger.. 😁
  3. If he's had it specially built as a one off for him, dont see there's anything anyone can do about it, good job too.. Good luck to him 😁
  4. Huh? I don't 'get' that at all, it's a musical instrument, to be used for playing music! 😁
  5. Folk seem to be interested in talking about rickenbackers at the mo.. The ones I had ( I've had 3 proper Rb 4001s in total) were flogged as I recall because I fancied trying something else, and in those days, 70s, 80s, you had to flog or trade one bass to get another. The last one however was in the slightly more modern era, late naughties, and I flogged it as I wasn't using it for gigs (I was using the Jack all the time) and as usual I needed the dosh. I was a frickin idiot to flog the last one, wish I hadn't, I got pennies for it (comparatively), and I'd have loved to still have it now. Certainly can't see me ever being able to afford another.
  6. Go to a shop somewhere that has quite a lot of basses, try a whole bunch of them, buy the one YOU just like.
  7. I agree.. More like you would've heard them at the Roxy, excellent find👍
  8. Seems a reasonable brief overview to me, give it's only a few minutes long.. I wouldn't roast the poor bloke for a couple of mistakes either. It's the sort of thing that can create a bit of interest to look further into the subject in more detail. Good luck to him anyway...
  9. The Headless bass I made kind of wants to go into that position ( if you're playing sitting down of course)
  10. Sounds like a fine idea, surely a very easy "clickety click" for mods or whoever to insert such a category into the marketplace you'd think.
  11. Tip.. go round the sound man's place and say that'll be (insert total cost price of new pedals) please... Don't forget to be holding "Lucille" style baseball bat over shoulder when you knock for him...
  12. Slipknot had a good solution to that one... 😉
  13. Certainly a lot of songs reggae up brilliantly, I had a play with a couple of beatles songs that worked v. Well...
  14. I had a white one with black trim about 81, wonder if by a million to one chance you had mine ! People were less fussy then imho, generally it was a bass, you got on and played it, end of..
  15. Only probably worth it if its a bass you love and keep forever tbh. The only bass body I ever paid to have refinished was in the 80s at chandler's, it was ok - ish.. I soon flogged the bass anyway so bit of a waste of time and money really.
  16. The modern era Rick necks have a "normal" single truss rod I believe ? The Ricks I had, (excluding fakers) had the twin truss rods, tho tbh I never had cause to mess with them..
