  1. Chatanooga choo choo... Glen Miller (probably)
  2. Can you post a pic of the whole bass in one shot BTW? be nice to see an overall view.. 👍
  3. I'd just take it back, lob it at them, say "You're havin' a bleedin' Turkish aren't you..." and get them to make another nut... Or better yet, get your money back and have someone else do it properly
  4. I'd say quite the contrary, compression is something that seems to have become particularly associated with bass... Hey ho
  5. Yes I thought the name a bit odd too, you can imagine the "artists model" running out screaming.. The paint seems to be aimed at wooden furniture and stuff going by the blurb I saw, so fairly tough and hard wearing you'd think, sounds ideal.
  6. BTW, is it the one they call "painters touch" or a different type in their range?
  7. For some reason I thought it was one of those only available in the US type paints, anyway good to know of for sure... I will check out the available colours on 'tinternet in a mo
  8. That looks smashing! 👍 Good bit of Intel with rustoleum paint too, I've heard of it but never used any myself, I'll try some at some stage for sure
  9. I think I bought a few small bits and bobs from them, for something I was putting together years ago. As I recall the guy I spoke to was very helpful with ideas, advice etc, and was quite happy to share, despite the fact I wasn't buying an expensive guitar from them.
  10. That looks just the job and under 40 squid.. I may be needing something like that too. I can borrow a larger one from a mate but it's a bit overly hefty and I'd think a "palm" size one would be far easier and more intuitive to use, particularly for PU routes etc..
  11. Looks a bit mad to me! The whole thing needs shifting over, try again I'd say
  12. I seem to recall a band TAR who had aluminium guitars made for them, a tele & a P bass type spring to mind
  13. If it's demonstrably "not as described" you wouldn't have to pay return postage. one thing about doing a "not as described" return via eBay is that they generally email you a pre paid return label.. How this would work with a big item like a bass.. rather than a "pop it into the post office" small item I couldn't say.
  14. Back in the day it was the only option, actually more like one out, one in.. If you fancied, say.. a Rick and you had a P bass, you had to flog the one you had then buy the one you wanted. Unless you could con your mum into lending you the dosh until you sold the outward one of course
  15. A number of times I've had to start a case I've gone straight to PayPal and done it through them, I found them easier and less impenetrable to deal with than ebay. Always had a good resolution in these cases with the money refunded via PayPal no prob.
  16. No Rick hate from me, I think they're great.. I've had pukka Rickenbacker basses at different times in the past and used them for gigs blah blah... I do think the JH bloke is a douche for persecuting even ordinary private individuals, selling a second hand single lookalike bass, privately, on ebay for instance, absurd.
  17. I've seen a dot on occasional screw heads, never knew the significance.. 👍
  18. That's handy to know, not heard of these.. thanks 👍 Another set of screwdrivers to track down if the JIS stuff is going to turn up frequently then.
  19. I had a Hohner Jack a number of years ago (late noughties) I used it on gigs quite a bit, it was a very good piece of kit IMHO and I liked it, sounded decent, good range of available tones as i recall, the one I had was black and looked appropriate to what I was doing at the time. Should've kept it probably (like so many others!).. oh yes, and you could kill the active circuit with a switch.. so you don't die if your battery does!
  20. See his other items, he's got more mad looking guitars, likely by the same hand,,,if they were 20 quid each I'd buy em 😁
  21. Noo..I think that's brilliant.. wonder if they did a Bass ?
  22. After some eyeballing and measuring using my noted lengths per string, I reckon the units will be fine as per template, I'll have enough leeway to shift the saddles back enough to intonate, and ( tho prob unlikely,) a smidge forward if necessary, There's enough metal on the saddle carriers to file a small amount off too should that be called for. The cat asked his friend to come and have a look too, and demonstrate what could "accidentally" happen if, say, I was not forthcoming with the Dreamies...
  23. If the Joker's mad sidekick married the young vet from "all creatures great & small"... ..... she'd be Harley Davison
