Owned two (a Mark II and an Epic), and never liked them. That said, I owned a Wal Custom that I bought for £350 in Music Ground in Leeds for a year and didn't like that much either. "Handmade" is not necessarily a euphemism for "not a dog".

Right, I 've made a silly billy of myself here. Apologies to you Haysy. Without wanting to make excuses, a very large amount of alcohol, and an enormous row with girlfriend in a Brooklyn restaurant were involved (and my furious typing of the response didn't help that row much). The bass does have a dint on the back, although it's not through to the wood. I can't see any belt rash on the back. Overall, if it was a vinyl record, I'd describe it as 'very good'. I've managed to pay for the funeral, so not in as mad a rush to sell as I was. I do have a feedback thread somewhere, which reveals that I'm not always a Richard.

Incidentally, one of the photos of the back of this made it look as if the bass had an enormous paint chip. It doesn't - that was a reflection. So I've replaced that photo with a less reflective one. It does, however, have a very small point dint on the lower right hand side of the back, but too small to capture in a photo. -

The third of the basses I'm selling to cover funeral expenses. I bought this new, when on a Jazz craving I went to Denmark Street, and picked out the most playable Jazz I could find. Since then It has been modded with EMG JVX pups (which I'm a big fan of), and original active EMGs. Both sets of pups will be supplied with the bass, and are easily interchangeable, without soldering. The bass has not been routed to accommodate the EMGs and their circuit, as they will (just about) fit in the control cavity, with the usual removal of the tone pot washer. I may also have the original Custom Shop pups and loom, but will need to get into the loft to find them. It's not spectacularly light - about 4.3kg - but it's not a boat anchor like the 70s Jazzes I used to own. The action is low, and the 45-105 DR nicklewounds on it have some life left in them. No serious dints or scrapes, just light swirl marks. At some point I bought a direct replacement three-layer black plate, which will be supplied with the bass, as well as the original tort in the photos. Photos here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/QydUpTLJTLM4Hvix8 I can supply this in the original Fender hard case, with candy. Pickup in Kingston preferred, or meet in London/Surrey. Courier possible, at buyer's expense and arrangement. No trades please. Thanks

I bought this about six months ago from a fellow BCer. It's one of the best Precisions I've owned; light, very even and smooth sounding, and in extremely good nick. There are no obvious dints, just the usual swirls, and the tort guard is a nice looking one - not a craaazee red one. I think it has a Kent Armstrong pup, rather than a stock one, which probably accounts for the sweet and even tone. The action is low and there are no rattles or buzzes. When I say light, I'm serious - about 3.8 kg on my crappy bathroom scales. It has nearly-new DR nicklewound 45-105s, and will be supplied in a decent (probably Ritter) padded gig bag. Pics here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/bjunFCb3RdDZuyMy9 I'm selling to pay funeral expenses. No trades please. This is a very good deal. Pick up or meet in Surrey/London preferred, but courier possible at buyer's arrangement and expense.

ACG Jazz five string, maple board, boutique Jazz, from Alan's workshop. Bought by me from a fellow BCer about a year ago. Original ACG site reference and photos here: http://archive.acguitars.co.uk/portfolio/0103-acg-j-type-5-string/ My (rubbish) photos here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/fZwdKiq8zSvCRshE7 (Or if that doesn't work, will email them). The hardware has been changed from chrome to black by a previous owner, The action is very low, although the strings are a bit on the light side for my tastes. The board is slightly birds-eye, and the bass overall only has the usual light swirling - no dints or serious scratches. This is very light for a five - 3.7kg on my bathroom scales - and one of the lightest 5s I've owned. It's a 34" scale, and has an East Custom U-Retro circuit, which I like a lot. Having owned Lull and Sadowsky Jazz 5s, I'd say this is a very serious competitor, for a lot less money. I am selling this, along with my two Fenders, to pay funeral expenses. For the avoidance of doubt, and to prevent thread crapping, I am asking less than what I paid for this bass. Here is null9er's original thread (which also has some rather nice photos). I hope he doesn't mind Collection or meet up in London/Surrey preferred, but courier possible at buyer's arrangement and expense. No trades please. Thanks
