1. One way I've seen used to good effect in sludge and metal is to link two riffs by coming up with a sort of intermediary riff that combines elements of both riffs, and stick it in between them. Works best when the two riffs to be linked have a fair amount of common ground to start with.
 2.
To be fair you wouldn't normally expect to have to read the manual for your blender.
Hehe. To be fair, though, when we did buy a blender, I read the manual.
 3.
Well, I did look AT the manual, it's just I forgot to look inside.
I think my wife actually said those exact words once. With a straight face.

 5.
Mine reacts ok to differences in tempo of tapping, but the tempo of the delays don't bear much relation to the tempo of the tap.

...not in the sense of one foot tap per delay so to speak. Almost like the delay is double time to the tap.
The DD-20 manual shows you (on page 26) all the different relationships you can set between the tap tempo and the delay time in terms of note lengths. I personally don't have a DD-20, but I've fiddled with one for a good long while and as long as I had the TEMPO thing set to a crotchet (quarter note, call it what you will ) the delay time was equal to the tap tempo. And, of course, you can set it to quavers (two delays per tap) or triplet quavers (three delays per tap). That's the beauty of the beast! Dotted notes are always a good one with delays.

 7.
Access to the truss rod at the headstock
I much prefer the Music Man wheel-thing down at the heel. You can adjust the truss rod with pretty much anything, as long as it fits in the holes. No need to find the right Allen key!
 8.
A router? What's a router? I've got a couple of kitchen knives and a sharpened spoon, and it's going OK so far...
Looks like you've already finished. Are you sure you sharpened the spoon? Erm, sorry for the thread hijack.
 9.
What a splendid piece of ash is is, too.
Oh lord. Don't tell me you've got your hands on a router and have set up as a custom builder...
 10.
Somewhere in darkest north east England
What... Sunderland?! Nah, seriously, who's the mystery builder?
 11. Starting to suspect it may have contained one of the black monoliths from 2001: A Space Odyssey. 7string has now entered another stage of existence as a Starchild and will thus no longer be needing his earthly possessions. I bagsy the ACG.
 12.
It's 90cm x 33cm x 14cm and weighs 19kg (42lbs)

Flugelhorn
That has to be the biggest and heaviest flügelhorn ever. My guess: ondes martenot. Or maybe a Fender Rhodes or similar, although I'm pretty sure the last Rhodes I played was a bit bigger than that.
 13.
What difference in terms of sound will that shorter scale length make?
With that small a difference, negligible. In a band mix, no difference at all. The real difference will be noticing that your muscle memory causes you to mis-fret all over the shop, assuming you're used to 34". (And I suppose you might notice a small difference in string feel due to the lower tension needed to bring the strings up to pitch at a shorter scale length.)
 14. Those Aeros look mighty slabbish to me. Not a hint of a front contour to my eye. Could be pretty uncomfortable if it's a properly right-angled bound edge.
 15. My OLP Tony Levin 5-string is a little gem for the money I paid... but it's not really just an OLP any more. It's got a Nordstrand pickup and a John East preamp, so in terms of sound it's up there with my "proper" SR5 (if not surpassing it a bit), and it's had a good seeing-to and setup from a decent luthier. The maple top's nice too, although not outstanding. The only downside is that the neck's a bit more baseball-bat than the real thing, but it still plays nicely and sounds great. Wish it didn't have frets, though...
 16.
+1 for all this, although oddly the Comfort Strapp was more comfortable for my old Ibanez BTB than the Mono was. Might be something to do with the distribution of weight due to the substantially different shape and size.
Just coming back to this because I've had the same weird experience with a different bass. Comfort Strapp much better than the Mono for the ACG Skelf -- just feels right. Maybe there's no single right answer, even for a particular person.
 17.
my boner is fretless the extended upper horn greatly improves balance
I'm having a real Sid James moment here...
 18. Howard the Bass Doc had a Boner up for sale here last year: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=49667 £450 was the price. Don't know if that's what it went for, and I don't know how it compares condition-wise, but there's a ballpark figure.
 19.
my Neil Sedaka Tribute Band
I wonder how many people have just skimmed over this without thinking...
 20. Yum yum. Chocolatey goodness!
 21.
See if that bass was fretted i would have never sold that one! Ebony board on that is gorgeous!
Even Mrs Endian likes that one, and she usually couldn't give a flying monkey's about my basses.
 22.
I guess! I just remember how popular 5 string fretlesses were a couple of years ago.
Indeed. If you hadn't made me extremely happy with a fretless SR5 last summer (still my go-to bass), I'd be on this like a dog on chopped liver. Its time will come.
 23.
Is this the double midget renamed?
Ah, you eagle-eyed mo'fo'. Well spotted. No mention of the Double Midget on the site, so presumably that's the case. I've also noticed Alex has dropped the T' prefix and opted for "Super Twelve T" and "Midget T" etc. for tweetered cabs. Good move, IMHO.
 24.
Performance aside, looking at the picture it would appear to have screw-on strap type handles. At that weight I would prefer something a bit more substantial and recessed as they will get knocked-off or ripped off very quickly.
I've got one of the original Barefaced Vintages, which has those same screw-on strap handles and it's even heavier than the current batch of Vintages. I've lugged it around a fair bit, and there's not even the vaguest hint of them coming out. Rock solid. In fact, WoT can vouch for the fact (cos I've seen him do it ) that the Vintage can be carried on its side by one strap alone with no problems at all. If you're strong enough, that is. I'm not, nor am I tall enough.
 25. I was just about to mention the fact that the G-string's completely unplayable at the dusty end... but then I realised that there isn't a dusty "end" as such. What the hell happened to this thing? Why would someone not even go to the effort of dusting something before putting it on eBay?
