  1. Actually my SR5006 is a bit heavier than my 3006. I don't have the exact data in my mind now but the 3006 is around 3.6-7ish kgs while the 5006 is around 4.3-4.4 IIRC. Must be the titanium rods and maybe the wengé top and back in the 5006 as most of the other specs are pretty same (neck dimensions, mahogany body etc.)
  2. I own an SR3006 and an SR5006 and they are the most comfortable 6 strings I've ever had. Just curious: what is making you selling the 1006? I had a 1005 and was a great bass even if a bit heavy.
  3. I was marveling at this pic the other day as you have posted it in an other thread. Will keep an eye for it and I hope you will get it back. Good luck!
  4. It's here: https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/spector-bass-pantera/953804128-74-4413 VB after the price means more or less that you can make an offer, the price is not fixed. Good luck! (just for the record I have nothing to with the ad or with the seller)
  5. They are extremely well made instruments especially for the money. I think they originally have EMG HZs in them. The one I had a few years back had EMG DCs in it, probably a previous owner upgraded it and sounded wicked. Balance is one thing to keep in mind, due to the body shape and the resulting position of the strap buttons it tends to be neck heavy and mine always wnated to go to a horizontal position. Which is probably not a issue for some but it certainly was for me (I wear bass quite high as it is obvious if looking at my profile pic) Actually I've just seen one 5ver for sale in Germany in the coveted holoflash color.
  6. For a while I have used an EBS Fafner II head with two EBS Proline 410 cabs Nowadays I use a Prolude Brick head and two 115 cabs. Sounds even better than that above and weights a lot less, transports a lot easier.
  7. That is a cab cover, there are two 115 cabs from a local maker that I use and I strore them one the EBS for the time being. Prolude KO is the name and they kick donkey, lightweight, punchy and killer sounding 15"'s, totally made my rethink my gig setup. No more 2x 410 I'm afraid.... 🙂
  8. Nice to see some familiar faces here 🙂 My gang:
  9. For my knowledge Spector uses EMG 35/40/45 DS's and TW's as a default in their US, Euro and some of the Legend line so practically if there is a soapbar shaped EMG in your Spector that will either a DC (silver EMG logo) or a TW (red lettering) Lately they started using the X series version of these, too.
  10. That is a steal. FYI EMG HZ pickups are passive pickups.
  11. Spector has done some double P's on their US models NS-2 and NS-5. Also worth mentioning that EMG offers P's in soapbar housing, like the 35P or 40P5 I have a bass that I've put two of these in so that is technically a double P
  12. You have scored big time, I had a 5 string version of it and was a great bass! Almost pulled the trigger on it yesterday, but already have 2 Ibanez Prestige six string basses so common sense prevailed.
  13. Then there isn't really anything to do other than get a nice Sadowsky. I really liked the Sadowskys I had / tried but when it came down to the small little personal taste-related details I went different ways. Roger is one of the nicest luthiers in the world and his creations are some of the best basses ever produced. The Metro line is fine but his NYC basses are those kind of basses where you stop looking for something else.
  14. Spector Coda deluxe. Handbuilt by Suart Spector and his team in the USA, incredible quality for a very decent price. Even if it is not American, I have to say my Atelier Z M265 is the best super J I've ever played (used Spector Codas, Sadowskys etc. before)
  15. + 1, or you can use a preamp / DI pedal like the EBS microbass II where you can engage a 2nd channel / route with the necessary tone shaping for when you use the bridge pickup only. The EBS Microbass II works great and has a sensible EQ selection + does not cost much.
  16. The advantage for me is that I can play my band's set that requires a low A and still have the G string for slapping and tapping if needed. Technically I could play the gig with a 4 string tuned B(A)EAD, preferably with a 35" 4 string bass like the Spector Euro 435, but that would require some adjustment for certain parts where I use the G string.
  17. This damn thread made me gassing for a Thumb NT6. Should have known...
  18. I think you made one of the best choices with the 506 for entering the 6 string bass realm. I had one 506 before and liked so much that I later "upgraded" and now my two six string basses are the SR5006 and 3006. I tried quite a lot of six string basses and the SR six string basses won me over with the ergonomics (especially with the neck and the balance) They sound quite good, too 🙂
  19. @govons it is a solid state / tube hybrid with a two channel preamp.
  20. I have my Atelier Z 265 for a while now. The bass surpassed my expectations when I got it, especially for the build quality, feel of the neck and the overall sound (very nice B string ) This feeling grew over the time so even after the honeymoon period i honestly think that this is the best 'super' jazz I have ever had (went through Sadowskys, Spector Coda, Fenders, FGNs, Sandbergs etc over the years) The feel of the neck is a personal thing, I definitely like skinnier necks for 5ers so that being said Atelier hit it right it the middle with the neck, a hair bit thicker than my Sadowsky, narrower that the Spector Coda. The clear coating is a joy to play, the feel of the neck is really great. I might sound as a fan, but I am extremely satisfied with my Atelier and it actually put an end to my quest for modern 5 string jazz basses.
  21. Spector Euro 4 or NS-2 for bass (or Euro 5 / NS-5XL) EBS TD660 or Fafner II with Proline 410 cab(s)
