Interesting that this has the TW EMG's, are the volumes push-pull to allow coil tapping? If so you can get a Jazz bass on roids sound out of this (I had the TW in my old NSJH5 bridge position).

Yes, it has the 40TW's. Both vol pots are push/pull for coil tap.

Also it is a 2016 modell with the separate battey compartment.

Killer bass for a reasonable price. Should not last long.

  2. For sale is my EBS Fafner II amp. Currently these go around 2000-2100£new.
I'm the first owner, got it new in spring of 2014. Gigged with it about 6 times, otherwise it sat in my smoke and pet free home studio unused. It is the best amp I have ever had and the sound is incredible with the matching 2x410 EBS proline cabs but I don't need this much onstage power for the gigs I do and it is a pity to have it being unused. Shipping in the factory shipping box is included in the price within the EU. Comes with the Euro power supply cable.

As for trades I don't seem to lack anything and most probably I'll say "no" as very few items catch my eye lately but might be interested in higher end basses and even can add cash for the right trade. (5-6 string US NS-XL Spectors especially)
    About the amp:
    Power: 750W RMS @ 2Ω and 600W RMS @ 4Ω
2 Channels: Clean & drive can be operated in parallel or in series
    With tube pre-amp - tube: ECC 83
Effect loop for each channel & common loop with mix level
Dual pre / post EQ balanced DI output
    Tuner output
    Line out
    Power-Amp input
    Lo-Z input
Remote switch inputs (RM-4 is not included)
    Standby switch
    Speaker outputs: Speaker Twist
    Dimensions: 19" x 14" x 3U (48 x 36 thomann x 13 cm)
    Weight: 16 kg
    Made in Sweden
    Clean channel controls:
    Bass
    High mid with sweep
    Treble
    Clean level
Drive active switch & filter active switch
    Drive channel controls:
    Drive
    Middle with sweep
    Edge
    Level
    Boost switch
    Serial switch
    Tube mode switch (ECC83 Tube)
    Master controls:
    Gain with peak
    Compressor limiter
    Volume
Hi & lo character character filter switch
The amp is in an excellent cosmetic and working condition. The only thing to notice is that some of the small switches have some movement to them (was like this when I got) and the serial switch's LED does not light up. (the cab on the pic is not part of the sale)

  3. String tension will be an issue. To have regular (EADG) tuning at, say, the 3rd fret you have to tune the bass 3 semitones down first, then capo. This will make the stings a lot floppier if you don't use heavier gauges. But you should try, there is nothing to loose.

  4. Unbelieveable. That top is killer and the figuring on the fretboard is really nice, too.
The quality of the US Spectors are second to none and this is no exception I assume.
Alas I have no use for a 4 string bass at the moment....

  5. I have experiences with high-end Prestige SR basses (SR3006, 5006, 1005).
They have superb playability even for six stringers and sound great.
The 5005/6 models are the current ones and go around a grand even used, but if you look around for the earlier 3005/6s (the ones with natural mahogany body) they go lower than a grand. These are Japaneese.
There was a time when Prestige series moved to Korea, I owned a SR1005, they go around 500GBP and fantastic instruments for the price with a great neck and Bartolini pickups + through necks.

I'm hearing good things about the Premium line too.

Playability was never an issue with the SR models, the body, neck dimensions and ergonomics are pretty much the same throughout the range so they all play great.

  6. Really nice bass Woodinblack, I have a six string version of it , the 5006 and its one of the nices, most ergonomically friendly six string bass I've ever head. I've a 3006 as well but the 5006 is a step above.

Hey Paul, i feel it's time for a change, too many good basses out there that need to be noodled on.
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods mate!?

I can certainly understand that.I've been through this before as well. There are many great instruments out there and is just happened I have my found my preferences. But it is a great game that we all play isn't it?
Everything is fine here, couple of US Spectors coming my way lately so life is good, gigging, recording and all the rest.

  8. Mark, with this and the amber 4 on sale I hope that you know what you are doing :D
I have to use all my strength to keep myself from making a good offer for both ;)
    Good luck with the sale!
