This is very good price for a new Spector. This one is one of the later models and in my experience the neck of these are thinner than earlier euros. Not Ibanez like paperthin neck but still not chunky at all. You should definitely try it out.The B string sounds really killer on these models. Also this one have the splitable dual coil EMG TW pickups which I prefer to their DC models.

Then try the soapbar housed EMG P's. They are essentially a P shape hidden in a soapbar housing. I use the 40P5 in my Spector and sounds badass.

Check out the related pdf's in the right, the first one (40 instructions) has a drawing on how the coils are inside the soapbar in different models. Available original P or reversed (a la Spector)

Valueable info, I just went to D'Addario's site and found that they indeed do .028 and .024 wound bass strings (single strings).

What's the gauge you are looking for as a high F? I always used 0.020 and can't remember I ever came upon a wound one, only plain steel ones.
I don't think anyone makes wound strings near 0.020, flat or roundwound.

For make that 10 page form makes a certain sense, whoever fills it out most probably got his / her mind together in terms of what s/he wants. Also serves as a written proof. I'm not saying this can't be done in an other way, because it seems dozens of well respected luthiers make customers happy with more traditional methods.

As for customer service I think it always nice to be on the helpful side. If one takes the time to write back he might as well could've make Binky happy with a straigt and helpful answer. It wouldn't have taken much more effort even if he is not a customer - as of yet (and Drozd lost one potential one in the process)
( I really like Spector basses and one of the reasons I respect them is PJ Rubal, who is the vice president and takes care of customer service. I had inqueried him about a 2nd hand Spector and he replied back in a very short time with helpful info and more. He really took care of me and I wasn't even a 'customer' And I'm sure many here have similar great stories with other brands, too. )

Really like the neck and the fretboard choice of woods.
Also Bris is a great guy to deal with!

It's a pity that you had this experience. I quite like some of his bass designs, and I was contemplating having one ordered some years ago.
I still receive his newsletters and occasionally check the website and can't help to see that the way of the communication is going into a direction that I find 'over the top' sometimes. It's just too much for me. But I don't doubt that he creates some great basses. Maybe he had a bad day? (not that it is an excuse for anything)

String spacing is 18mm at the bridge.

For sale is my Yamaha TRB6PII bass.
This is the top of the line Yamaha six string, made in Japan, now discontinued.
The build quality and the wood choices are on par with many boutique basses.
It has everything that could be asked from a bass really. The bass is in very good condition (see the pics), plays well and works perfectly.

Some key points:

- 35" scale, ebony fingerboard, maple/mahogary 5 pice neck
- light ash body with figured maple top and back
- individual bridges with piezzo, 3 band EQ + a piezzo blend control
- cca 5 kgs

The price includes a Yamaha hardshellcase and shipping within the EU.
I'm not really looking for a trade unless it is a US Spector NS5 or NS6 or a fretless Euro5.

Thanks you! They are, indeed. I think these Czech made Spectors are some of the best value basses around.

It is a 'pre LX' Euro 5 with full maple wings. Bought on this forum last year, had it refinished in this color, also shaved the neck a bit.
The color was hard to get right, I wanted something transparent, not too pink, no too magenta and not too purple. This is the closest it got.

Thank you! The Puple one was originally a Euro 5, the knobs are removed and the controls are now on the back of the bass on the control cavity cover as sliding potmeters.

I think it makes for an excellent project if you are up to making one. Otherwise I think the novelty factor wears off quite quickly so I wouldn't buy one. But again, would love to make one just for the sake of it. Quite a head turner... :-)

Well, I have another Spector that is more Purple, so compared to that I say it's pinkish.
