    Spector Euro 6LX - SOLD

    After much contemplation, up for sale is my Spector Euro 6LX

    My Spector Euro 5 is my main bass, I get the all the 'Spector tone' I need from that and I use that bass for about 100% of my gigs and recordings these days
    and I have a new six string bass coming in that I intend to use for other projects so I figure I'm letting this go.

    This Euro 6 is all stock, 35" scale, 24 frets, EMG DC's, alder / walnut / maple wings, non-adjustable TonePump preamp.

    The finish is something I'd call natural. it is not the gloss finish or the matte clear coating I had / have on my other Spectors. Very silky feeling, I wish my Euro 5 had this finish.
    Condition is good, it has some marks around the pu area, but they are not really visible from even a couple of feet due to the figure of the maple top.
    It has one of the best figured maple top I have ever seen for a Euro model Spector.

    I'd go on the second hand way if I were you. 3K is a lot of money and you can find many basses far below that limit that are really good and can do many things.
    And once you get your preferencs together, you can spend high money to get the ONE.
    I have found that ergonomics are playing a much bigger role for me with a six string bass than with the fivers. String spacing, neck dimensions, scale lenght, weight etc. are more crucial for me with the six string basses.
    So can be good to go through a couple of basses to get a feel of what your preferences are.

    From my personal experience:
    Ibanez SR Prestige line: Japaneese craftmanship, great basses. I own a SR3006 and SR5006. Tight spacing, very comfortable basses and they have a very useful sound throughout the fretboard. If I were to bring only one six string bass to the deserted island till my dying days, this would be that.
    Yamaha TRB 6 strings. The II series bolt on necks are selling stupidly cheap and are freat (TRB II6) 19mm spacing, 35" scale but the nect is thin around the nut end and very comfortable. The high end TRB 6IIP is one of the most verstaile basses I have ever heard, its got piezzo as well. This is quite rare used and holds its price.
    Spector EURO6: great Spector sound, 35" scale. I own one currently and exploring the possibilities of it. I love the sound of it (my EURO5 is my main instrument )

    I like these Thumb NT's. Kinda class in their own, even within the WW staple.
    I have owned and used a Thumb NT5 from '91 and while we weren't getting on too well I still respect the unique features of this model.
    Also I have to say that some of the best fretless sounds I have ever heard were coming from Thumb fretless basses.

    I've just sold an Ibanez SR1005EFM that has a really good B string and I believe its new price was under 1000 GBP.
    That bass is 34", neck through and has decent woods. So there are exceptions but I have to agree that higher build and material quality will yield better B sound

    I have found .135 strings working well for A on a 34" scale. I have also found that strings with tapered end gave me slightly more pronounced sound.
    I is all now not an issue with my Spector 5 string (35" scale)

    Due to a twist of fate in late summer I have ended up with more Spector Euros than I can handle (if ever there is such a thing...:-) )
    One Euro6 and two Euro5's.
    I have decided to move one of the Euro 5's, the blue one with the gloss finish because I can not stand as she's staring at me from it's stand full of blame
    (due to not being played)
    It is a great instrument but I seem to prefer satin finish'd Euros to gloss ones
    The bass is a full stock Euro 5LX, 35" scale, maple/walnut/alder wings, EMG DC's and Tonepump (non adjustable).
    Color is a lovely blue that can be black or blue depending on how the light hits it.

    It has some small dings on it, the worst is a chip on the lower edge (see pic)
    These are cometics, the bass works and plays 100%, (truss rod, electronics etc.)
    Action is low and the strings have plenty of life in them.

    I can add cash for the right trade. (not amps and cabs, except for a pair of EBS 112 NEO'S)
    Please don't be offended if I say no as I'm happy with the selection of basses I have.

    Mike bought an Ibanez SR1005 from me. Good communication and fast payment made it really easy for me. He even endured my Paypal mistake (gave him my other email address for it :-))
    Hope he can discard all the packaging material I put around the bass to have it safely shipped to England (hey, it made it there in one piece :-) )
