  1. My pleasure....and it has given me a reason to break this out from the case and play a few tunes πŸ˜„
  2. 13mm for the J, 10mm for the lower P. Measured from surface level of the body to the surface level of the pickup in the median of the body as pictured.
  3. @Dov65 I can measure on my Euro 435 whatever you want but I’m not sure it’s useful as I set them up to match the outputs just like @ead so they are at different heights. Also the other issue is that the bridge on this one sticks out a lot more than on my other Euros because the neck is angled slightly, not flat to the body like on the others so the pickups are at a higher level. Still I can measure if you want
  4. The Ibanez SRSC805 ticks most of the boxes I believe, nut is around 45, and eventhough the "horn" does not extend to the 12th, the position of the strap pin makes in very well balanced.
  5. No wonder, yours is an exquisite looking bass, I love natural finishes too and that is something Spector always excelled at making. Yours has an ebony board, right? The 40 housing is a treat, so easy to swap and not a big buck to buy. I have a few Spector 5 strings that originally came with 40DC's and throughout the years have been swapped to 40 DXC, TWX and a PJ (even I had a PP setup in one of my NS-5XL for a while)
  6. I love the fact that they come up with the 5 string PJ, even if it is a limited run for a specific dealer..... I think it was way overdue for the Euro line. I've seen only one PJ Euro 5 before and that was a custom order through the Czech workshop. I have a pre-LX Euro 5 that I put a J and a P in - in the EMG40 housing- so technically it is a PJ albeit optically not πŸ™‚
  7. Nice! Is it one of those Chuck Levin exclusive Euro 5 PJs?
  8. @Eldon Tyrell can't comment on the neck as I had / have only 5'ers from that period whose necks aren't that much different that the later Euro5's (and slimmer that my NS-5XL fwiw) But I'd expect it not being Ian Hill slim.
  9. There is one pic up with the listing showing the open cavity. By the look of the unit and the arrangement of the wiring I'm pretty ure that is a non-trim Tonepump
  10. Come on, you know that the "buying is the new selling" at least here on BC πŸ˜„ Seems like a good deal with the color and the condition, and unlike decribed in the page this has full maple wings, not alder back. If I was a 4 string player and lived in GB I'd buy it in a hearbeat, these don't come up often and certainly not in a package like this. Bit surprised by the TonePump, haven't seen these in such early Euros (mostly Aggie OBPs and EMG BTCs)
  11. The fretted one in my prev post is this, enjoy πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜„
  12. I have two Thumb NT6 about 10 years apart, one fretted (black nirvana finish with clear coating) one fretless (natural finish) and the body shape is different around the horns area (lower and upper horn) The pics are terrible as it is hard to catch the difference but you get the idea.... The differences are visible as the lower horn is more protruding one the fretless and anchors a lot better on the leg when seated but the upper horn is farther away from the neck so the fretted is more snug fit.
  13. My bet is that it's a Korean made Legend Custom 4 from the 2000's
  14. I'm not up to date with the current new prices so I don't even know that what you've listed fit to the budget new but.... I'd buy a Spector Euro 5LX or a Spector Euro Classic 5 ( I own both, great instruments) As for your list, my take: Thumb - Love them, have two Tumb NT6's but they would not be my first choice as the one 5er to rule 'em all due to ergonomics and sound Bongo - never owned but on B5 is on my wish list Stingray - I own a SR5, fabolous bass, the best Stingray I've tried / owned but the Spector has the same modern kinda sound and more.... Of course you can't beat a SR sound if you want just exactly that. Great neck, too. Dingwall - owned an AB5, really loved the neck but the sound was nondescript.....
  15. @binky_bass come to think of it I've written a NBD post here so it'll give you a better idea....
  16. 😍 Seems like a limited edition Atelier Z M245. Great basses and incredible craftmanship ( I own an M265, the five string version, NDB post here )
  17. Hey Russ, this one effectively put an end to my quest of a 5 string superjazz. I got this 5 years ago, still have it and still regard it as one of the finest crafted instruments I ever laid my hands upon Atelier Z M-265
  18. I have a pair of fretted and unlined freltess Thumb NT6'. On the fretless the side dots are placed where the frets would be, not 'in between' like on the fretted. Now I don't know where Ww places the dots on a lined fretless ( on the frets or in between ) if they ever produced such in the early '90's Since the dots are on the fret positions on your bass I'd assume it was born unlined and fretted later.... (Ww can do anything for custom shop but yours is an early example and I don't know what were they offering in terms of customization back then...) edit: emailing Warwick can solve this mystery, they have a great customer service
  19. Good luck and do let us know how it ended...
  20. It wasn't me but fwiw there is one for sale in the for sale section of this forum with one of the best figured top I've ever seen on a thumb (no affiliation)
  21. @wrinkleygit sorry for my lack of knowledge but what is that lever (?) protruding from the saddle of the D string on the bridge? edit: ok, 4+1, I got it. Never seen such before though.
  22. This is a transition-era Spector and as such you won't see many around. These already have SS logo / Spector brand but still 34". I had one and it was a lovely instrument. The neck was comfortable for me (no surprise given that I play Spectors 95%) 1400 Euros is just about right especially if it is in tiptop condition.
  23. Actually the ramps on my basses (the two Ibanez on the pic above your post) made me a better player, or rather helped to refine my right hand technique. Nowadays I use plectrum as much as (or more than) fingerstyle but back then when these two were my main practice/gigging instruments and I playes exclusively fingerstyle these rampes provided to be a helping addition to these basses. edit: and apart from these two ramps and refinishes on two of my other basses and the occasional EMG40 swapping I think 90% of the basses I ever had were completely stock w/o mods and stayed that way. So while I understand your sentiments I think for me ramps were not a fad or a fancy thing to add but something that has proven to be worthwhile
  24. I have ramps on both my Ibanez Prestige SRs for many years now, still use them and still like them a lot actually.
