    Then it is your chance 🙂 I don't miss mine because it is only about 10 feet away from me in the other room 🙂 Killer basses, I love mine, like a P on steroids with world class ergonomics, the only thing that could surpass it to have in 5 string version.... @ribbetingfrogyours has some of the best figuring I've ever seen on this model.

    Could your please let me know what is the string spacing at the bridge? Does it have any case in which to ship? Slightly off, but I'm curious @Hellzeroand @marcblum what is your top 3 fretless basses you were referring to?

    No doubts here, it is a genuine Fodera and they are using this "extended low B headstock" design for ages. It is a custom option.

For more info head to his site http://esopusguitars.com/index.html While I'm not much of a guitar player and certainly no game for such handcrafted acoustics I'm happy the he is doing fine and does what he loves.

    IIRC I have your old 3006E (with wooden Bassculture pickups) but could be wrong. (sold in/around 2008? )

    While on the subject I did have one issue with the bridge, or rather one of the monorails: I could not lower the C string enough for the desired action. I do favour a low action especially on the SR5006 which I use exclusively for fingerstyle and tapping/sweeping but it is not THAT low. I had to make my luthier route out a bit of wood so the monorail could be sunk in deeper. It is fine now but left me wondering.... (In all fairness the same thing occured when I got my Warwick Masterbuilt Thumb 6NT and on the C string the lower terminus of the adjusment range was still well over the frets so again, couldn't go lower)

    I didn't mean to discredit your experience, it's just I might have ended up lucky..... which is bizarre, it shouldn't be an issue at all given the price level of these basses.

    This is strange as I own the exact same two basses, the 3006E for a good 14 years and the 5006 for 8 years and never had this issue at all. Just to be sure I've just checked both of them and the intonation is spot on on the B with a usable measure of range left to the neck-end of the monorails. - on both models. I use .130 and a very very low action so the string hasn't have to travel a lot to reach the frets so the pitch does not alter significantly between the harmonic over the 12th fret and the actual fretted note at the 12th.

    Can't be of much help but I still have occasional regrets of not buying a 35" (!!) scale Ian Hill a few years back. Would love to have that tuned to BEAD, just my other (white) Euro 435 custom is. (And yes, it was 35" eventhough the specs said 34" in the listing and it had the Ian Hill sticker on the back of the neck)

    How about putting new strings on it and trying that way? (I'm assuming by your comment on the the string installation that you kept those on the bass) Even my regular basses that I know the sounds of can sound a lot more dynamic and open after a string change.....

    I have one of these and it is a killer bass! Sounds like and angry P bass with more mid-growl and it's surprisingly versatile bass. Also I have tho say that the Czech workshop really outdid themselves, fit, finish and overall quality is right there with the US Spectors I had / have. If they did a 5 string version of this exact bass I would be a first day buyer.

    My Forte 6 that I had have quite a fancy top. Ebony board too, Spector branded tuners.... In fact the only things separating from an NS-6XL were the inlays and the HAZ. So this whole Forte thing got quite blurred out in the end.

    Thanks! Have you tried any of these 5rs? (I think you got a red classic 4 but not sure) I never had a JJ Spector, the coil tapped TW's come close but the positions are different. I quite love how this JJ sounds, still has the Spector vibe but a bit different than my other Spectors. And the low B is massive!

    I hold the X series EMGs in very high esteem, I have 4 Spectors that I swapped X series in. Truth be told some of those swaps weren't only for non-X to X but for other reasons, too like having a PJ setup in 40's housing. In case of my 40TW to TWX the change was very nocieable (and not only when using the coil tap) just as when I swapped the 40DC to DCX in my NS-5XL. The X series seem to have more dynamics and the sound is more open for the lack of a better word.

    Congratulations for the NSD! I really like the TW pickups and the volume drop issue is almost nonexistent with the X series TW which I have replaced the original TW with in my Euro 5lx. So the potential combinations are much more usable Sounds better for my ears, too.

    Well then, finally I got this. Proper NSD thread will follow but for now this would do. Spector Euro 5 Classic, ridiculously good craftsmanship and sounds great, too 😀

    Again. If Brexit hadn't have happened we would be in serious negotiations. For a few weeks I have been thinking of maybe getting a NS-6XL as an addition to my other Spectors and now this comes up. I really miss the days when I could do business with all the nice chaps in GB. Good luck with the sale!

    Really the one word that prevents me from buying it: Brexit I really loved the times when I could make great deals with fellow players in GB. Bought and sold quite some through this very forum. Sadly that is over....

    What a pity about the sizing as it narrowly misses the EMG40 sizing (101.6 x 38.1 ) and that has plenty of options as to what's inside the housing.

    To be honest taking it so long it just shows how incompetent bunch is that RNRHOF is. Same goes for so many not even inducted and for some that were inducted and got nothing to do with "rock'n'roll" Morons. Sorry for being a bit edgy, I have other problems like trying to talk myself out of buying a Classic 5 and a Euro 5 LT. First world problems I know but we are on a bass forum, right? 🙂

    Exactly this. I practice on the same bass that I'm going to gig with and also I do it standing up. My gigging basses (I have a couple that I use for different bands) see the most practice time. I have a recording bass which I don't gig with. This is a Spector NS-5XL which is a favorite with engineers. Of all the sessions I've done since I have it this was to be used. We tried others but this one won all the time (except for fretless cuts) I use this quite a lot at home, too because I love it but when I'm preparing for a gig I'll use the same bass I'll gig with.
