I am seeing African Head Charge tonight at the Cluny in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This is one of the tour dates that was postponed from February this year. The notes say that George Clinton was involved in writing the lyrics and arranging it while Wikipedia says "Coby Recht said recording the film's reggae number 'How To Be a Master' was complicated due to actual Jamaican musicians performing on the song and not being able to 'read the charts' that were in English." Bass line is legit.

I go to gigs on my own and generally end up speaking to people there who have the same interest, love and passion for what is going on. If your local venues have regular gigs then you get to chat to them and sort of end up with gig friends. However I wouldn't trust any of them to hold my pint while I go for a slash.

Here is the Barry Brown original and the King Tubby dub. The bass in this dub mix is probably my favourite and one of the most gloriously note filled it goes everywhere: no simple repetition on this one.
