This thing is really catching my eye....... BUT I've owned 3-4 Ampegs over the last 25 years and every one has failed in some way which is really putting me off buying another What are your thoughts on this amp???? Thanks Mike
-
I've no idea because 4 strings are enough for me
-
Works really well with low E's though

Thanks ever so much for that ๐๐๐

Hi. It is the combo but the head detaches so I may use the head with two other cabs

Hi All Looking at this diagram am I ok to daisy chain two 8ohm cabs out of one/either of the outputs should I want to do that? I'm thinking of using the speakon out into a TC RS112 and then out of that into a 2nd RS112 Thanks Mike

Hi all At home I use a rack mounted RBI for practice and it sounds great I play classic punk with a little bit of modern stuff thrown in. I'm wanting to get myself a pedal and I'm thinking the Bass Driver Di Programable or the Bass Driver DI Programable is getting my eye as I can use 3 different channels but any thoughts from anyone on here ๐๐

Used my Elf last night through 2 TC Electronic RS112โs and I was blown awayโฆLoud as hell and only slightly warm at the end of the night. Itโs usually a back up for my RH750 but Iโm seriously thinking about just running with 2 Elfโs so one as a back up. And also maybe putting a little diโd bass through the PA ๐ค๐๐

Iโve found an SG on the Gibson site called an HP and this has a button fitted to the upper rear horn so this must be an approved place to fit oneโฆ..๐ค๐๐

Hi everyone. Does anyone have any thoughts, advice or experience of moving the neck heal strap button up onto the upper horn???? Thanks Mike

Stood the Bass upside down and poured the glue in through the F hole leaving it land in the area behind the speed clip ๐ -
Strap lock on upper horn Hofner Verithin Bass
Bungo Mike replied to Bungo Mike's topic in General Discussion
Well spotted ๐ it does set solid eventually but the quoted 24 hours is more fore straight joints. Letting it set as I need it will probably take 3-4 days as itโs kinda like leaving a bottle opened ๐ -
Strap lock on upper horn Hofner Verithin Bass
Bungo Mike replied to Bungo Mike's topic in General Discussion
Well guys Iโve done it. Marked and drilled. I glued two speed clips together and made sure that the screw fitted just right. 1. To ensure the screw went in without to much trouble and 2. To ensure it was tight enough. I added double sided tape to the clip and the fed the yellow line through as shown. I pulled on the line so that the clip stuck onto the inside of the laminate. Once this was secure I removed the cord and carefully screwed in the strap lock. The guitar was then turned upside down and I poured in a good amount of Gorilla glue. Itโs not upside at an angle that ensures the glue levels itself over the area of the speed clip and will be left overnight to set. Fingers crossed this does the job ๐๐๐ -

Strap lock on upper horn Hofner Verithin Bass
Bungo Mike replied to Bungo Mike's topic in General Discussion
Hi. I did mine about 20 months ago and I play in two bands so itโs been used a lot for practice with gigs included. Itโs still solid. I drillled a small hole first then turned her upside down and carefully poured wood glue in ensuring that the initial angle would make sure that the glue settled in the correct place. I think the Hofner is a thinner laminate so I may drill a hole and add some epoxy resin, allow it to cure then drill a smaller hole again and add the strap lock ๐ -
Strap lock on upper horn Hofner Verithin Bass
Bungo Mike replied to Bungo Mike's topic in General Discussion
Hi. Thanks for that. There is already a strap lock on the heel but having it there pushes out the bass as I have a bit of a belly. The Casady sits great after the work. Im just kind of wondering if the wood glue would do the job if I add a large amount. Iโd love to know whatโs in there -
Hi everyone. Iโve bought a Hofner Verithin bass and Iโm looking to add a strap lock in the upper horn. I have a Jack Casady Bass and Iโve done the same. Has anyone done this to a Hofner and is it gonna be a similar job to what Iโve done with the Casady. I drilled a hole and added the strap lock then turned the bass upside down and poured in wood glue allowing it to dry which appears to have done the trick. Thanks in advance ๐

Volume & Tone technical issue (Epiphone Jack Casady)

Not giving in just yet ๐๐ -
Could anyone take the top schematic and draw me a simple idiots guide drawing like the one below showing where each wire capacitor/resistor should go. I can solder but I donโt understand how to read the schematic. Many thanks in advance Mike ๐๐๐

Is this a 15uf ๐ง Itโs on a Jack Casady bass ๐

Volume & Tone technical issue (Epiphone Jack Casady)
Bungo Mike replied to Mike Bungo's topic in Repairs and Technical
Hi. Iโve tried 250kโs A&B added new capacitors and a new resistor but the problem of on or off still persists. Can anyone draw me a dummies schematic or give basic advice on what to check for. Iโm assuming and I have no way of checking both the transformer or the OHM selector switch -
Guys. Iโve added another post about this last week. I own a white JC bass (2014) which is awesome. Iโve bought a second in gold (2002) and Iโm after some technical advice. The gold bass volume and tone controls are either on or off where as the white one has full control. Iโve played around with 250k pots both A&B and Iโve wired it exactly like my white one. Iโve renewed the caps and resistor but it just wonโt work as it should. Am I missing something here as Iโm kinda getting nowhere. If anyone can draw me an idiots schematic then that would be really appreciated ๐๐
