2017 model. Gigged 3 times for 30 minutes each and in as new condition essentially. Comes with hiscox hardcase which it lives in. Its my absolute pride and joy. String spacing .687"/17mm (string-to-string center) Tuners: Gotoh GB-7 Finish: Chrome The only reason I'm selling is Ive seen a 5 string Wal for sale which I have on hold nd if I can sell this I can Part-exchange the rest of my gear to fully fund it. Ordered mine in November so looking at 6 months for a build which is very good! I was told itd take 10 months.

Im so jealous! Haha. Cant wait. Quite few festivals booked this summer, looking forward to having it in time for em!

New images just in! Does this post get bumped when I reply again or should it be a new post? Im assuming people will still see it here. Enjoy!

Takes regular strings, not sure what gauge but it can be found online. I think Mayones may have started selling their own specific strings for it too. Bought an octave pedal to go with the Cali 4 now and its brilliant, I'm going to start using it at jam nights every now and then. May even gig with it one day.

Oh yeah? Ill have a look at that. Wondering if the micro pog would be good enough or the pog 2. Ill see if I can try em both out. Thanks for that! Sounds promising.

Its fantastic to play. I have a Kala U bass too which I love but theyre both completely different beasts. The strings were definitely an issue for me, though they do give a unique double-bass like tone which is fun.

It doesnt, its the first thing I'm gonna do though. Im gonna try a few octave pedals to see which suits it best. Im thinking of ordering one of those Octabass octave pedals then I'm going to try taking it to my local jam night to see how it gets on! It is brilliant fun.

Hey all, I got around to filming a video using my Mayones Cali 4. Link below. I have other videos using my Zon and custom waghorn too for those interested. Here I'm covering an old classic.

First progress pictures

Yeah they're super niche. I first started chasing one in november last year. I think for most people theyre a bit of a toy but I work on ships with very little storage space so its perfect. Ive been doing fine with a Kala U bass but having this with a headphone output is going to be even better.

Honestly surprised at the build quality. The craftsmanship is fantastic.

After waiting quite a long time I've finally got my Mayones Cali 4 bass. Pics below!

Ive been loving this bass. Just asked about the triple dots too, very good point. Love the colours there too!
-
Just contacted Alan. Ive gone for black/blue luminlay dot inlays instead. That should be everything sorted now. Waiting game begins!
-
I am very tempted...i might have to text Alan tomorrow r.e fretmarkers.

Hiya mate, yours basically inspired mine. I went through multiple ideas for tops before I asked about one a resin hybrid top. I wanted one with resin at the base of the body similiar to yours. Almost went for the inlays like yours too but Im sticking to a blank fretboard like my Zon. Excited to see it progress! How long did yours take? Ive been told approx 10 months.

Put a deposit down on a build a few weeks ago. Due about 10 months from now. Heres the topwood, a resin hybrid buckeye burl top. Ignore the shape currently drawn on, its going to be a recurve 6er! Not sure how often Alan tends to send updates but Ill try to remember to keep this up to date. Any questions do ask!
