how much for the cab??
Ok, I'm having to sell off some rigs due to moving house so send PM's if you are interested. Markbass 4x10 cab - only a year old, not much gig use (includes custom built cover) - this is an absolute mofo, AND, how many 4x10s do you know that you can carry with one arm? (Mr. Schwarznegger, please, no reply from you). The GK I chose after testing about 7 amp heads with the price tags removed - this had flexible tone and held its own at low levels. I'm totally happy to split the rig btw - flight case for the GK would be a bit extra. Also prefer pick up/meet up as I'm based in East Kent. I will be selling a TE 715 combo too once it has been serviced/repaired (internal fuse blown, or something) - this has a custom built flight case by ABS if anyone is interested - case in good condition considering it has been moved around by road crew for years! (Flight case can also be sold separately) PM if interested. So, yeah, get in touch - I'm away from 31st Aug for a week so apols if I don't reply with the speed of a Gonzalas-like cartoon character. ps - may trade cab for eden metro...who knows. hi there cant'comment on the squire P-Bass, but use flats on all my basses including warwick, status and jazz bass, and ive always found they give a much nicer warmer tone, and they dont 'twang' like rounds do at all. hope this helps
Okay - my cheap Affinity P-bass has a very (overly) bright, twangy, almost tinny sound. Before I fork out the money on them, can anone tell me how much effect putting flatwounds on would have on the tone? I don't want to spend £25 on a new set and find that the tone is dictated by pick-ups and the guitar itself. I play in a salsa band so I really want a warm, neutral, double-bass type sound, not a funky, bright, slap bass sound. Are flatwounds the way to go? Will they make a drastic difference?
ive got a no name precision bass body , i'm guessing its basswood as its light (definately NOT ply or hardwood) its transaprent blue in colour showing wood grain through it. I bought it a while ago with the intention of doing something with it but it ain't gonna happen! No significant sctracthes etc, looking for £25.00 + £8 p&P if anyone is interested?? or swap if anyone got anything interesting to offer?
