  1. I would class myself as being brand loyal. I’ve owned Swr bass cabs, for the last 25 + years. At one point I used to own 4 x 2x10 goliath juniors, but now I’m down to two. Just love the bottom end punch & the famous Swr sizzle at the top end. It’s a sound that I’m used to, especially when playing live, the sound just cuts through. Used to own their amps too, but these have been moved on.
  2. I must confess that I have always had a Fender type bass in my arsenal. Whether it was my 80’s jazz bass special or my customised Squire 4 string, fitted with a badass bridge, Emg preamp & pickups. I’m also fortunate to be the owner of a Jazz V deluxe & an Elite V too. There has been an upgrade path over the years, namely the improved pickups, the aforementioned musicman styled truss rod adjuster at the bottom of the neck, plus a little lighter in weight compared to my Deluxe. I been looking into the Ultra II model & although I was disappointed to see that they’ve reverted back to the method of positioning of how you adjust truss rod, I do like the new high mass bridge, especially as it now gives the option to string through the body, or bridge. The S1 active \ passive switching has been brought back in, for those who remember the mid nineties series of Fenders & the new mid boost frequency between 325hz or 750hz is another new thing. Along with the luminay side dots & tusq nut. So slight additions have been made. I’m guessing just like any type of manufacturing, raw materials & labour charges are ever increasing
  3. From my very limited experience on this type of scenario. If the retailer does charge vat on the purchase, you should be able to request a tax form from them. So that you can claim the tax back, when it reaches the country, of where the item will eventually reside. Some retailers will fill the form in for you on purchase, others won’t mention it. If that is the case you should be able to request the appropriate form. Of course you must mention at the time of the enquiry / purchase
  4. Unfortunately I haven’t played the Indonesian version. But from what I understand / have read, but I believe the main differences are, is that it has a different type of body wood. I’m not sure what it is, but it’s slightly heavier in weight.
  5. Welcome back
  6. Mine is a Korean made one, it’s very light in weight, has a low action, stays in tune. Has a killer B string. It can be strung through the body or the bridge. This will be a cracker of a bass for someone, ( especially at the new price) looking for 1st 5 string bass.
  7. I’m not entirely sure if I’m going to attend. As I’ll be away on my hols. I do return on the night of the 1st March. If I’m not working on the 2nd, I’ll put in an appearance.
  8. I agree great basses, i have one of these, it has lovely full sounding B string & mine is light in weight too.
  9. Toto Birmingham BP Pulse live arena 2nd Feb
  10. The wheel adjustment, was stopped after the Elite series. The wheel adjustment isn’t on the Ultra series.
  11. Lucky man to have 3 of these pass through your hands
  12. Mmmmmm I’m currently drooling over this. Just recently purchased a Jazz Elite V, if this is still here ( which I very much doubt ) in the new year, you may get a pm from me. What weight please ?
  13. It’s positively drool in’ over this. Just like the one I had, apart from the badass bridge. Mine had the black neck to match the body
  14. Sorry to hijack this post. I used to own a Japanese Fender Jazz Bass Special too, ala Duff’s model, mine had the selector switch, Black hardware, headstock & neck, with a Black body. I believe it was the original version, as far as I can remember, mine was purchased in 86. The model for sale on this thread came out slightly after, with a sleeker body shape, different pick ups & tuning posts. Duff had changed out the original pickups for Seymour Duncan’s
