1. Just traded a bass for David's 70s Jazz. It was a real pleasure to meet up with him. He's a really interesting guy to talk with and really knowledgeable with it. The deal was very straightforward, with great comms and hassle-free exchange. Deal with him with absolute confidence. Thanks, David
2. Bought an MXR Carbon Copy pedal from John. Great guy to deal with. Excellent comms and got the pedal by next day delivery. You can deal with him with confidence. Thanks, John
3. Thanks Phil. She's a cracking bass as well as an investment. Just need to satisfy this GAS I'm suffering from.
4. I had a Lakland Skyline JO a little while ago. Always regretted selling it
5. I generally use my DB751 with a pair of Aguilar GS112s (one with a tweeter and one without as a sub). It has a lovely warm sound to it. Having just read Toasted's post, I think I'll also try it with my Bergantino NV412.
6. +1 for Matamp - absolute quality through and through. Try Weber amps as well. I've their MYWATT200 and it's brilliant gets loads of compliments - even from guitards!
7. I know it's not a DB750 but I have a DB751 and had a TH500 at the same time and can say that they are very different. I found the TH500 to be a bit 'lightweight' (no pun intended) in comparison. The 751 definitely has all the heft and headroom you'd ever want. Having had a DB751 before, I contacted Aguilar when I was buying the TH500, as I was wanting the DB751 sound, and they said that the sound of the TH500 would be different. I assumed it would be close enough but I couldn't get there with it so I ended up buying a DB751 and let the TH500 go.
8.
I sold a 1979 fretless Precision in about 1986 for £250. Regretted it ever since.
And I thought I was the only one who'd done that. Mine was black with a fretless maple fingerboard. Guess I just didn't realise what I was doing at the time.
9. Thanks, Pete. Hope you and the missus are both keeping well. All the best Pete
