1.
ive got my jazz up for sale and been lookin at and thinking about laklands for a while. I love the look of the DJ jazz and DD PBass, but i fear theyre too far out of my budget (£450 if my jazz sells!!) but seen the skyline 44 series with the twin soapbars etc and just wondering if they were any good and therefore worth a punt!!??? I play blues/soul mainly and my other basses are a warwick fortress one and westone thunder 1A (aswell as my 24 fret jazz) so i'm not into the marcus miller slappy tone but just want ballsy out and out bass tones!! any advice??
Try the Skyline Joe Osborne signature. It's a superb bass. Great pickups and playability. I've had one for a couple of years now and it's a joy to play.
 2.
I've got one of these (albeit with more than a few mods!) and love it- good luck with the sale!
Thanks. What mods did you have done on yours? Pete
 3. I'm having to down size my collection of basses so, reluctantly, am selling my USA 62 reissue Jazz Bass. I have had this bass for just about a year now, having bought it new from The Bass Centre. It is a beautiful instrument and is still a current line in the Fender range so the detailed spec can be found on the Fender website. Briefly, this bass is in sunburst with a rosewood fingerboard and has the stacked knob volume and tone controls. It comes with a vintage case, covers (still wrapped in tissue), string mutes, strap, cable and all the tags, etc. It is in immaculate condition (see pictures attached) and would set you back nearly £1,500 to buy new today. I'm letting this one go for £1,200 ovno. If you are interested, send me a PM for contact details.
 4.
Hi All, looking for a bit of guidance, i have now decided that i am a jazz man through and through. I am going to be looking at replacing my music man in the near future with a jazz . I have found a new american standard Jazz for £799, however i have also spent some time looking at the fender jap jazz basses @ Guitar Emporium, i have narrowed this down to the 62 reissue with american vintage pick ups coming in at £759, would need to buy a heard case as don't get one. This is bringing the price up to a very simialr level. One advatage of the jap is the number of clours that are available. Now to the question, which one is going to be the better bass and give me the best value for money against performance and re sale. look forward to your responses Cheers Nathan
It's worth checking out a Lakland Skyline Joe Osborne signature Jazz Bass with Lindy Fralin pick ups. It's modelled on a 62 with 3 knobs and I can vouch that it's a brilliant bass. Having said that, I also have an American Jazz bass (with S1 switching) that I put Seymour Duncan Vintage Pick ups into. What a difference they make! Two great basses for sensible money. Pete
 5.
You really need to swop it for a more modern esp
I like the classic jazz basses. I've ended up with 7 so I'm having to sell some of them. Sad to say this could be one of them. P
 6.
don't know anything about it other than that it looks way nice!! c
Yeah, the graining on it is beautiful. Pete
 7. I bought an ESP J800 jazz bass copy, new, back in 1992. It is a beatiful bass being 2 pieces of book-matched ash finished with a honey coloured clear finish, matching Fender-shaped headstock, bound 21 fret rosewood finger board, gold ESP hardware, ESP pick ups and black pickguard. Made in Japan. It weighs in at a very heavy 13lbs but the sustain is fantastic. I have asked ESP for information but they can't (or won't) give me any details. It was mentioned - with a picture - in the 1992 edition of "What Bass" with a RRP of £765. Pictures attached. Anyone know anything about it? Regards Pete
 8. I fully endorse the comments on Lakland Jazz Basses. I have a Skyline Joe Osborn with Lindy Fralin pick ups and the bass is just a pleasure to play. The controls allow you to bring the full range of tones to your playing and the build quality is superb. All this at a price more than competitive with Fender.
 9. I've now put this bass on ebay.
 10. Sorry. I told you I was new to this - forgot to mention the price. £150 or nearest offer.
 11. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to try their hand at a 5 string. I bought it new last October for a band that never took off. I'm a confirmed 4 string-player so I no longer have any use for it and I have run out of storage room. It has never been gigged and is as new. It is the active Cruiser model and has a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. Body finish in charcoal pearlescent(?). 2-band active EQ - bass cut/boost and treble cut/boost. The other controls are volume and pick up pan. Collection from Leeds would be the preferred option but I would deliver/meet up within 75 miles of Leeds for the cost of the deisel. This the first time I have tried to sell anything on BC so please be paient if I have missed something obvious. [[email protected]]Crafter 5 String Bass
