1. As the title says, for sale is an Orange Crush 25BX bass practice amp. I actually bought it on Friday, but have since acquired something more suited to my needs. So here it is, three days later, I'm just looking to get my cash back on what I paid. Yours for a very reasonable price of £60 collected. If you want it posting I'll use works courier and that will be a further £16 on top too. This is what it looks like: The unit works perfectly and is in very good condition. This is a bloody ballsy practice amp!
2.
I have just the one. I'm not a bass player but I went to the council tip a few weeks ago and someone was throwing away a hard case. I asked if I could have it as I could make use of it and he gave it to me. On opening the case I found this. Ibanez BTB300BG. Not sure What to do with it.
DAMN!
3. I have one electric bass and one upright electric bass. Does that count? Strictly speaking one isn't a back up for the other

5. Great player, thanks for sharing. Have any of you checked out Joe Fick?
6. Just spied this absolutely ridiculous instrument! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12-STRING-BASS-PRAT-...1#ht_500wt_1045
7. While, buying new will give you a warranty etc, many on here would argue that it would still benefit from a proper setup to get the action how you want it etc etc. So this in turn adds more money into the mix. I would personally get looking on eBay or here, or contact your local high schools in the area. I picked a full 4/4 DB for £50 from a school! Just needed a sound post re-sit and the bass was up and running again! Obviously, buying unseen from eBay is a bit hit and miss, but if you can get a good bargain a bit of money you save could be spent on getting it set up properly. It's a funny balancing act, each with pros and cons. I'm sure more learned members will guide you better than I will though
8. I'm after a short scale bass, I might bid on this!
9. It's simple - there's electric bass playing before Jaco, and there's electric bass playing after. Love him or loathe him as aplayer, he's the figurehead of the instrument we all love to play. Thanks for sharing Bilbo, always a pleasure, never a chore
10. Where can I source a good quality power pack for a Phil Jones Bass Buddy, other than getting one from the maker? Anyone make a good quality equivalent? I had thought of a multi-point adapter, but the idea doesn't sit well with me. There must a reason why the BB power pack is like it is.
11. I modded a cheap OLP Stingray with a Basslines pup and Audere Pre. Sounded ace *Please ignore pap playing
12. Get yerself a Basslines pickup and internal preamp combo in that there bass and you'll have a beasty!
13. I really wish I could get a proper upright again, there's just no room at all at home until we move house! Hearing your great playing Bilbo makes me realise just what I'm missing The NS Wav is nice and all, but it's long way from the real deal!
14.
Gone Cheers dude.
Nice one! Too good to pass up at that price... pity I don't live in Devon

16. Slap Bass: the epilepsy of the bass world!
17.
... if it wasn't for the small matter of Mrs Skol about to go into labour at any moment, I'd be there! (Darwen ain't far from my home patch in Manchester). Looks like a great gig; best of luck with it
Cheers buddy, and all the best with the labour/birth thing! If she's having a natural birth I highly recommend you watch it, it's amazing to see your children come into the real world. It's something you'll never forget Good luck!
18. Oh my! Oh my oh my! How did you concentrate during that video shoot! I liked the video
19. If any of you are in and around Darwen Lancashire this weekend, it's the local Darwen Live Music Festival! All live events are free, and it's usually a really good crack with a really good vibe. Lot's of different music for all different tastes. I'm playing in the excellent Darwen Library Theatre on Saturday 28th May at 5pm in The Cottonhouse Shakers. So come and show your support and give another BC-er some encouragement! I am after all doing the whole gig on upright
20. Just a quick update to say that NS customer support services are brilliant, and Deano who I dealt with at House Music is a legend and a real gent. Rang him up, he was expecting my call, gave him my address and the next day the stand was here! Sterling work! I'm one happy bunny
21. Great instruments, very lightweight, comfortable and really good necks on them. Mine had a P and humbucker pickup configuration, not the normal P & J and it sounded great. Wish I'd kept it now, it's one of the best basses I've owned and I really regret getting rid. If you want a full bodied P-bass, get the real thing as the Lyte is an instrument in it's own right really.
22. Nothing beats a good strenuous walk - it's free (unless you drive somewhere first to do it), it doesn't have to be in the same place twice and it gives you an excuse to get out of the house/away from the bass/away from work. A lot of back pain comes down to poor posture and being tense. Walking, especially if you do hill walking etc, can really loosen you up and it invigorates the mind, especially as the oxygen starts pumping around the body. Tie it into a hobby like photography or field recording and you're laughing
