1. Just wondering if anyone on here is planning a purchase from Rondomusic.com? I want to order a replacement scratchplate for a short scale P-bass, the sizes are a bit different to normal ones and no one else does SX stuff. Rondo are quoting $50 postage just for a $10 scratchplate!!!!!! They won't budge on cost either. So, if anyone is planning an order of a bass etc quite soon that will warrant such a high postage cost, could you order the scratchplate as well and I'll pay for my bit?
2. I didn't know there was new stuff on the way, now I'm very excited
3. Do a search on Youtube for a channel called Jamersons Hook. This guy has the whole Jamerson vibe down to a tee, and has masses of videos playing loads of his lines. He's also really approachable and a nice guy. So maybe speak to him?
4. Our drummer uses an eKit, and it's great! When we're playing at volume and everything is belting out to the audience, most people are hard pressed to tell the difference during a live show. A lot of the subtle nuances that are possible with a normal kit are not possible on an eKit. However, most of these will be drowned out in all likelihood during a lively set, so you don't really notice it on the eKit unless we play quieter, but even then it's not massively noticeable. The big difference for me is the level on stage. Because there is no large kit to amplify against before you even begin to amplify for the venue, the backline is much more pleasurable volume wise, and better for the hearing as a result You do need a good eKit though, cheap ones just don't cut it.
5. Putting up for sale my Tanglewood TEB-12 30" scaled hollowbodied bass guitar to fund the purchase of another instrument. Not sure of it's true age as there is so little information about them on the old interweb. Despite this, it's in cracking shape with very little wear and everything works as it should. Basically it's 30" scale, really well balanced and quite light. Features a nice fat single coil humbucker for the neck pickup and mini humbucker for the bridge. The sale of mine will include a Comfort Strapp and plastic straplocks (metal ones were too noisy). It's fitted with La Bella shortscale flatwounds and I'll even chuck in a set of used Rotosound Blacks too. The bass has a nice big fat bluesy tone but I have managed to get it funky as well! I'm ideally looking for £150 inclusive of postage anywhere in the UK - £130 collected. No trades please. I would rather not post overseas but will do so if required, but I'll need to quote for it. The bass will be really well packed - I've sold a fair few in my time, and will be sent via works courier and insured. Let me know what you think. Derren.
6. It looks like it has an Audere pre install or similar.
7. Why has no one snapped this up? Vester made amazing basses and this looks the dogs bollocks!
8. Loved it too! No matter what you think of his music, whether you feel it's real jazz or not, there's no denying a great band and a great performance!
9.
Yep. The OLP is my favourite, played more than the Stingray or the Warwick or... This is another example of a great one, and cheap. I just don't write about the cheap crap ones... because they are there, oh yes.
Just out of interest, where and when did you get your OLP and what condition was it in?
10. A guess if you're buying a boutique instrument, you're actually buying something very unique and original to you. Sure there will be some continuity between basses from said boutique luthier. But ultimately you're paying for something that is bespoke to you with certain finishes or bespoke pickups etc. When you're selling that bass 5, 10, 15+ years down the line, is someone going to buy in to your particular take on what you perceived to be a good and albeit very personal statement for bass playing? Unlikely. Being so unique it becomes difficult to maintain boutique instruments should there be problem, especially if the luthier is no longer trading too. Unless of course that boutique bass was owned by a famous player, then it holds historic value potentially. Just my 2p's worth. Peace.
11. If you change your mind about trading, I'd defo be interested in a sale!
12. How about the new SWR Headlite amp and a GoLight cabinet?
13. Something like the EBS Session 60, which retails at about £260: Or the Line 6 Lowdown Studio 110, which is about £190:
14.
Check out the heads: 250W and 500W At that price, the 250W one deserves a look as a backup amp, surely? A
Bloody hell, that is so cheap! It actually looks quite nice too, not too garish, quite classic and understated! It would be interesting to see if anyone would buy one or what the reviews are?

19.
Anyone seen these guys from Japan? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYKVvysl-Mo
Soil & Pimp Sessions - good musicians for sure, but a bit of one a trick pony merchant. A lot of their albums are a bit samey and your ears get tired of it quickly. It's good stuff though is small doses
20. This guy has the sound down to a tee http://www.youtube.com/user/jamersonshook
