4.
Evening All, In a pathetic attempt to placate the wife ( before I go right ahead and get another bass !!!!) I am moving on my Ibanez BTB6. Purchased from Gaff, this is in superb condition. There is one tiny blemish to the upper body side that I will try to photograph for your delight, but please be assured this has been one very well looked after bass. I cannot really justify it hanging on its hook and try as I might, I just haven't really clicked with the whole EBR thang! Any trial ( and a cuppa) more than welcome if you can get yourself to Leicester.....looking at £275 for this although if required postage will be at cost on top of this. If you have any questions at all please PM me , Thanks no probs any questions let me know Matt
5. i think he watches loads of Spinal Tap
6. Hi all i have a evoii 500 1 x 15 combo and a 4x 10 cab I want to use the amp part of the combo to power the 4 x 10 cab so i want to turn the amp into a seperate head but i need a sleeve to put it in The size is different to that of a normal ashdown head so a larger sleeve would be needed does anyone know where i can get one from I will still use the 1 x 15 for larger gigs Hope this makes sense any ideas would be appreciated cheers

wow

What a mother funker
10. it was a bit funny but it had its good side too If it was a late rehearsal or gig i had a sheet ready to kip down somewhere Luckily it was a white sheet and not floral pink
11. mine was an Eko acoustic which was massive and i used to carry it on my moped to rehearsals i was 16 and i think it was £99 which was a lot 25 years ago and i had to fill it with an old sheet to stop getting feedback which made it heavy
12. I can see both sides of the argument and try to work around the basslines that i need to learn but some you cant as they are the main hook acdc whole lotta rosie for instance i may not know if i have lost any of my creativity until i rejoin another originals band And by the way i didnt say i didnt enjoy playing covers
13. i agree i think that anyone could copy a book word for word but that does not mean it gives you any ability to write one
14.
Is this another original bands are better than cover bands thread? God I'm tired of this argument!
its not about wether one type of band is better than another as i said i am in a covers band myself it can just sometimes be a bit brain nullifying to copy a bassline that i do not believe is necessarily any good and just because the song maybe great doesnt mean the bassline is inspiring
15.
I like one of the tunes on their Myspace site. Reminds me a bit of Dag.
thankyou for introducing me to Dag, great groove
16.
Doesn't sap my creativity at all. I play great basslines to audiences that love the songs and get paid for it. If we get bored of a song we drop it and learn some new ones. The originals I can play around with at home in my own time!
I dont think learning a new song or bassline is the same as creating one, as the one being learnt, has already been created by someone else so no imagination is needed imho that doesnt mean to say the only great bassline is only written by oneself the reason for this post is because i listened to a demo of my old band and was knocked out by my own playing. Not highly technical but v imaginative
17. i have an old neck you can have for a drink plus postage. Saves you defretting a neck and not liking it as frets are much harder to put in than take out
18. went to see a band supporting Craig David called Mamas Gun and i was knocked out by them Great bass player but great songs with plenty of feel http://www.mamasgun.co.uk/ just a great band so waiting for their album in September
19. I have played in original bands for twenty odd years and have just recently joined a rock covers band which isnt my first choice in music but it keeps me playing Since starting i have noticed that my playing has not gone forward but probably backwards as i dont have to use my artistic ear to make up cool or inventive basslines any more Has anyone else had the same experience
20.
That would be 2 units I would presume, although you would be better going for 4 or 6 since they are all the same price which would enable you to add a tuner, and fx etc
cheers for that
21. does anyone know the size i would need if i was to take my abm 500 combo amp out of the combo and use it as a seperate head cheers all
