Nice looking copy. I actually have serious GAS for something similiar. I must say, looking at it, it seemed surprising it was an Ibanez. Are you sure itisn't a Greco?

Hi, my band have recently been in the studio and we've got all our new stuff uploaded onto our new look website. Would love to hear some feedback from you. I Blaspheme is probabaly the "bassiest" song if you're looking. Cheers guys. Pencil In
I'd say if you've played it and you like it then get it instead of buying blind with other 5ers
+1. While I'm certainly no Korn fan in any way, I can see the appeal. For a Nu metaller's sig model I've always thought the K5 was a surprisingly refined looking sig. As the OP says, they seem to get good reviews as well.
oh and on looks, having seen that Hank Marvin Salmon Pink beauty (hehehe) I have decided that a white p/guard is more at home than this cheap looking tort which looks like someone puked a whole kebab on it
I completely agree. Tort on red doesn't do anything for me. White or pearloid would look cooler.

Not sure on the body wood but my Squier CV is heavier than my MIM Jazz. Try Warmoth mate. You could just replace the body of an existing bass with a lighter one?

This stuff does my f***ing head in to be honest. I have a 200 watt Trace Elliot with a 1x15 cab. It's not hard to take to every gig we do. I never rely on anyone else for back line, I never let anyone use mine. Simple as that. I've never actually been asked prior to arriving at the gig if a band can use my amp. It's always a case of f***ing idiots turning up and assuming they can use my gear and the predictably shocked and annoyed response when I give them a firm no.

I like. The blue one I bought recently is one of my main basses now. Well made and cracking tone.

New Neck for Squier Vintage Modifed P-bass?
Soloshchenko replied to AttitudeCastle's topic in Bass Guitars
Warmoth do awesome necks, the nicest I've played. Plus if you're really into the bass you can get something really exotic which doesn't require a finish which means you are playing bare wood. A nice experience, no question. In terms of dimensions Squiers seem to change the dimensions of the neck pockets a lot so it's difficult to say what will fit and what won't. Check out the warmoth site which should tell you their dimensions but you will need to measure your own. Also, if you are only a few milimetres off you can compensate by shaving down the neck pocket on the body of the bass. I've done it on a guitar before and it fit like a dream, -
Two things strike me about this. Firstly, as awesome as this looks I think Fender are bordering on insane when, in the days of DIY pedal boarding they launch a fuzz this size. Regardless of whether it's the greatest pedal of all time they'vealready lost me, I can't justify a pedal that big without a lot of pissing about getting a new board that isn't as suitable for my needs as my current one. Secondly, why do people who have put the effort in to film and upload a youtube vid insist on demoing the actual product for all of 2 minutes then talk for six hours about it? Just play, show me the different settings, don't describe them. I can't speak German, but I guarantee this guy is saying stuff he could just show you by actually playing the bassthrough the pedal. Cheers for the post though Paubass.

That Jazz looks nice. A bit of work would have it sorted I reckon. I had the same problem with the bridge on my MIM jazz, it was utter sh*te the original. The saddles flapped like crazy when I dug in so I replaced it with a Gotoh 201 and set it up myself and I now have a bass I'm never parting with. Playing others I think I got lucky with mine but the porblems you report with yours seem very minor and sortable. I'd sort them (for little money) then sell if you still don't like.

Wow, this looks and sounds amazing mate. I've just started learning walking bass techniques and I've found just a little bit of knowledge has gone a long way and has helped me loads in my rock playing. When I get some time I'm all over this. -

WITHDRAWN Squier Classic Vibe 60's Precision Bass
Soloshchenko replied to basskit_case's topic in Basses For Sale
These are awesome. Got one recently S/H, better than so many more expensive basses I've tried and owned. Making absolutely zero mods to mine other than taking off the weird thumb rest, the tone is bloody brilliant, a true precision sound and I can't wait to gig it. I personally can't see Fender keeping the Squier quality this high for long, a possible future collectors item? Have a free bump. -
SANDBERG BASIC 5 Something has taken my eye and applying the "one out before one in rule", am seeing if there is any interest in my Sandberg Basic 5 It is in good condition, finished in Blueburst, and with a maple fingerboard. The odd "ding" as this really a players bass. it was recently set up by Steve Robinson and a new set of Elites fitted. It is the version with the Noll 3-band pre-amp, (Cut/Boost on Bass/Middle/Treble), and has a Coil Tap switch fitted allowing the Delano MM pick-up to be set either Series/Parallel or Single Coil. The Vol control has "Pull for Passive" option, invaluable if your battery dies mid gig. It has a very defined, clear sound and does the typical Stingray sound really well. Set up with a low action, and the neck is the nicest one I have ever played. The build quality is excellent! Looking for £495 for it. If the Bass I am interested in sells, I will probably withdraw this. It is such a dream to play. Cheers, Stuart
I really, really love these basses. Don't sell it mate, they are brilliant and worth far more in terms of an instrument than the price you'd get.
The only experience of playing Squiers I've had is a friends MIJ Squire Jazz from 92/93 which sounds, looks and feels great and the Classic Vibe Jazz which could give my Geddy Lee Fender Jazz Bass a run for it's money. I don't know much about the bog standard Squiers. The old Silver series MIJ jazzes go for approx £300 on ebay and I've seen Vintage Modified basses going for £150. There's a 1982 Squier Jazz going for £850 on ebay which may be a bit ambitious? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT And and early 90's one for Approx £300 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MEWAX:VRI If I remember rightly the 92 Silver series bass my friend has, has the string retainer going right through to the other side of the headstock ,vintage style (which this one doesn't have for some reason?).
If it's an original JV series, those are now collectors items and thus do go for well over the £500 mark. Absolutely awesome basses. £850 is a bit pricey mind!

Well I've just bought a mint s/h classic vibe 60s bass. It's absolutely brilliant, easily the same build quality of my mexican Jazz. Infact, it seems like Squier the neck has gone through an extra quality check if anything. As for the headstock, I'll be leaving mine exactly as it is. The only mod I've made is taking off the the silly finger/thumb? rest thing. I quite like the inverted snobbery value of playing well with my band with lots of intricate parts on a squier! Personally I'd advise bass players who into fender basses should snap up a vintage modern or classic vibe sharpish. I can't remember squiers being as good as they currently are since they were first introduced and it doesn't take a genius to work out that they are now matching the Mexican's in terms of quality despite being miles cheaper. In the past, that has normally meant Fender discontinue the cheaper model or do something to re allign the balance. I don't think the ClassicVibes willbe around for too much longer, people are simply getting too much for their money.

That looks lovely mate. The deal sounds excellent to me. Personally, I'm gonna go with a gold scratch plate but I am a flash bastard.
