1.
A company called Graphtec made the piezo pickups and two of the three preamps. One is a buffer preamp for the piezo, another is a filter/mixing preamp which sends the signal from the buffer preamp to the 13 pin socket. The third preamp is Jon's own eq. The signal then goes to an Axon AX100 pitch to MIDI convertor which senses the pitch and converts the signal to MIDI before passing it on to whatever MIDI devices are attached.
My brain hurts!!! where's my tea chest, broom handle and string... Nice bass, you have far too much dosh
 2. Got to learn how to play now! God help me. Reece
We all had to, and he won't help. Don't be disheartened when you don't sound like guy pratt by the end of your first practice. I gave it an hour a day 5 times a week and after 2months things were sinking in and rhythms were coming out. Only tip I would give is don't pick it up when you're tired, cos you'll only get p*ssed off with it when it won't work, and you will not pick it up again. Good luck, can't wait to hear some success Andy
 3. Would recommend you stay away from 'starter kits' from stagg. my first bass was a stagg and it looked like it was made by an apprentice joiner who didn't have any thumbs. Pup controls were all skewed, made from balsa, strings were like razors and it made a noise like a farting morris minor.LMAO Pic looked good on e-bay tho.... Andy
 4. Always makes me feel that life is worthless and I should have ended it years ago. your girl cheats on you, your dog always dies, you aren't really your fathers son, And everyone thinks your a cowardly w*nker. Pass me something sharp to throw myself on!!
 5.
dribble..... probably the best one i've seen, have you owned it from new?
Bought it on e-bay from a guy in scotland, who found a nice session j.d. but couldn't keep both. Had some previous owners, it is 24 years old. Luckily they treated it well.
 6.
I agree, it's worth more....although they do pop up quite often. This examaple looks to be in great condition. Most of the JD's from this era have worn pickup covers, including mine! Good luck with the sale.
Thanks, would realistically have liked to ask for a grand as condition is pretty good, but like I said, probably be still looking at it a month from now..
 7.
Nice bass...but don't you think that it deserves a better price ? 700 £ is a bit too cheap imho. Good luck with the sale.
£700 may seem cheap compared to new but I could have asked more and still have it in a months time so 'priced to sell' I think It's a cracking bass just doesn't suit my crappy style of playing, find my stingray more forgiving...
 8. 1985 Jaydee supernatural in black (serial No 05611) Made of wood, plugs into 'lectric, makes a noise. A beautiful bass, got a few dings but nothing tragic. See photo's. Can't play slap to save my life (and after reading the slap thread, wondered if it should be in a skip???), so it's gathering dust and deserves to be in a home where it gets used. Unsure of it's current value but guess you guys will give me some guidance. Hoping for around £700. If you want to come and plug it in and slap it around, I'm in east yorkshire. Got an Overwater on the way and if I want to keep it (and my soft dangly bits!) then I have to part with one of my collection. 9.
Mate, never think that! Have you heard some of the sh*t out there!! I guess your right mate, but it still feels good just to get it right sometimes. And some of the 'sh*t' is all some people want I guess
 10.
Looks a great bass - are you in the south west?
Up on the east coast north of hull, where the most exciting thing to happen is watching the traffic lights change from red to green. ( it's on a thursday afternoon at 3.10pm if you are in the area)
 11. Thanks BeLow Only got some pics of my Jazz at the moment, (no david bailey me). It's a bit rare and a bit of a b*st*rd child as Fender don't accept it as a signature bass. I spoke to Adrian Ashton at bass guitar magazine (he has one) and he told me the history. Imported by Arbiter I think, had sims l.e.d's added and endorsed by Mark King. Came with signed photos of Mark with the bass and stuff. I have No29 of 42 made. Bought it on e-bay in a frenzied last 5 minutes in which it went up by over a grand. It had spent 8 years under previous owners bed. Wether it's approved by Fender or not there are still only 42 of them and I have one and love it. Still pristine, sounds excellent, play it when I'm low and it makes me smile Hi Peter Thanks for the welcome. Doesn't it make you wonder where you would be, if you had done it all those years ago? Scary thoughts
 12. Hi all, Another newbie and another oldie i'm afraid. I didn't pick up a bass until 4 years ago (49) after a lifetime of " I will do it soon, just gotta do this first". A road accident that has taken 7 years to recover from, left me with 'a little' spare time, so I finally did it. Got fingers like cows t*ts so I couldn't cope with fiddley lead stuff, so I got a bass. Totally hooked. Got 5 now and an overwater on it's way, when Chris May finally glues all the bits on. I can't believe I didn't do this when I was 17. Not talented enough for a band ( and maybe too old to start LOL) but the satisfaction I get from playing is more than sufficient. Still sussing out the site so go easy on the acronyms etc, eh? Ta! Andy stuff Jazz deluxe, stingray, j.d. supernatural, Yamaha bb605, and the compulsory squier jazz. G.K. 700RB2 G.K.1x15 and 4x10 cabs. bass pod.
