Didn't someone else use super glue...guitarist maybe??? Can't think now.
Flea filled a hole in his thumb with superglue.....

A brand new 500W Ashdown head at Soundslive for £279. Couple that with a second hand Hartke/Marshall/Ashdown 4x10 and you'll have plenty of thunder.... Should cost around what you have to spend.

Aged 16 in 1986 at The Egerton Arms in Stockport, Manchester. Me and three mates due to play a single 45 minute set which blossomed into 2 45 minute sets because we going down pretty well. Problem? We only had 30 minutes worth of material, so we just played it all again in a different order! Big memories? The drummer wearing sunglasses in dark room with a Japanese bandana (?); said drummer's police light perched procariously on his bass drum (our light show); the guitarist playing his EVH licks to an appreciative crowd; vox and backing vox down one mike into a crappy 100W Marshall P.A and me trying to play like John Entwistle on a Hohner Precision copy through a HH amp/combo with no effects and wondering why I couldn't get his 'sound'! Happy days! Oh and if I ever forget any of it I have it all on DVD - and that is scary!!!

Stick with what works for you! Who decrees what is 'proper' and what is not? There are tons of techniques and different variations therein and if we all played the same way using the same method nothing would have changed in 40+ years. I use thumbs, fingers (between 1 and 4 at any given time), tapping, typewriter, pick, nails, different angles... anything and everything to explore the instrument and see what new sounds I can get.....
If it is the same as the one in the picture it's quite an old model and I think you'll struggle to get that price. Good luck with the sale though.
OK, thanks for the advice..... could anyone tell me what it is worth? Would anyone like to make me an offer?

Anyone interested in this (same as the one in the link) £200, collection only from Manchester or can arrange a suitable meet within reason. Looking to go to separates that is the reason for selling...... I believe they are close to £850 new? It has just had a full service too.
i read the title at "lengthening your wife" look, i know she's only 5 foot tall, but i like her just the way she is ! ahem i'd not splice new cable - just get a new one. there's a lot of vibration knocking around with a bass cab...splicing might be cheaper, but the last thing you want is your amp head shorting across its output mid-gig.
Lol.... if only it were that simple. The wire comes out through a small gap at the back and I can't get to the speaker connection that easy. Looks like the adaptor route might be the answer.......

I have a TE 300W combo and I'd like to extend the speaker cable to around 2m. Is it easier to buy one of those cylinderical cable connection jobbies or is the best option to splice a longer cable to the TE one and would a block connection do the trick? Cheers!

Just out of interest - I offered to take John's Buzzard down to Bassday so that people could try it and have a pic taken if they wanted... but no one ever got back to me. However, there would have been a big, big sign - 'NO SLAPPING!'
Unless I misunderstand is that not just a direct feedback loop - not a good idea
Thank you Dave!
Easy bass into rpm fx send to 2120 line level input to 1st amp eq'd for highs then rpm normal output to amp 2 eq'd for lows this is you're rpm sending 2 identical signals to be processed differently
OK... you can tell this is all new to me! I will be using the 2 amps merely as Power Amps so the EQ on those will be bypassed. The preamp will provide the EQ. Ashdown have told me the crossover outputs from the RPM1 need to be connected to the effects return of each amp to avoid damage... Yours sincerely, Confused from Derbyshire!!!! ;-) Might be easier for you to show me as you say.... hopefully next week sometime when the RPM gets to me.....!
Well what you might not know is john didn't really send highs and lows to different amps he just sent a full range signal around but eqed it as highs and lows. We could mess around with this when we meet up if you want
Right the only other thing I could come up with was that he set the Eq parameters within the 2120 unit to just apply to the highs. But (not doubting what you say) why the Alembic signal splitter and how did he get the clean bottom end and distorted high end all at once? >puzzled look!< And if the RPM1 doesn't put out an amplified signal, it should be OK to plug into the 2120?
Checked set the 2120 to -10db output and then you can plug it into the input on the RPM-1 But what you are doing seems like it will create some feedback by refeeding it between the 2 units. Can you explina in more depth what you are trying to do.
Thanks and yes I want to biamp... I want to run the Buzzard direct into the RPM1 then run a line out into the 2120 from the high crossover. Then from the 2120 into an Ashdown Mag300 effects return then into a Hartke 4x10. The bass crossover into a Behringer effects unit then into a TE 1x15 combo effects return. Thereby I can have whatever effects I want on the high and low..... I know John used the RPM1 effects loop for his 2120, but I can't figure how he'd have applied the effects to just the highs!

Does you know if it is safe (for the 2120) for a bass to be plugged into the RPM1 preamp, then the high pass output to feed into the input of the 2120? Can't seem to get any joy from Ashdown or Digitech on the matter. Does the RPM1 actually put out an amplified signal that may damage the effects unit? Thanks.
Can you connect a rack tuner (Korg DTR) to an effects out signal if your head hasn't got a dedicated tuner out socket? Cheers P
I ran mine through my effects loop and it worked OK.....
