1. I like the baggy, see-through, blue rig posted above. Nice, tight low end.
2. Starting to wonder if I should have gone S12 now. This wait time is the worst, gives you a chance to second-guess everything! I could never cope with the months and months for a custom bass, I got angry when my car was late!
3. Pffft, someone here will probably give you your £50 back when she's done with it.
4. Based on my experience with the head, I'd recommend the Harley Benton BA5110C without hesitation. And if you don't like it, return it!

6. Hey guys, like a few of you I use my bass rig as a hifi/computer speaker/game console sound system etc a fair bit. I saw this 20W mini amp on ebay and thought it'd be perfect if only it had proper speaker outputs. I'd also love a proper quarter inch input too, then it could be a bass amp too. Both of these are easy enough to do with converters but if anyone knows of a similar unit with better ins and outs I'd love to hear about it.
7. I love the Fusion, if you're anywhere near Newcastle feel free to come try it. I also really, really loved the Harley Benton but it's not quite in the same league as the rest listed here. What kind of sounds do you like? That's the most important question.

Moen MO-BA DI Box??

There's a Thomann one too. Just food for thought.
9. I hate this, went in to Guitar Guitar in Newcastle specifically to look at a MB Fusion (I asked for it by name), I was shown to the Aguilar Tone Hammers, because they're "much better than anything GK makes and much, much smaller than those massive GK heads". I also once fancied an Epifani cabinet, back when they were just starting to get noticed. So I went in and aksed if they could get any into Sounds Live, I knew they weren't a stockist but you never know. I was told that they're fairly sure Epifani don't do bass amps, and why would I downgrade from my Ashdown stack? This was actually a genuine mistake, he'd never heard of Epifani and just couldn't bare to tell me I'd mispronounced 'Epiphone'.
10. Stephen bought my Harley Benton amp, great guy and very easy to deal with. Also gets my thumbs up!
11. Recently purchased my GK Neo 112, arranged for pickup himself and everything went so smoothly, thanks again!
12. Chris bought my GK Neo cab, was a very nice gentleman and I had a smooth transaction. Cheers mate!
13. Actually most brands quote a (granted very fudged) RMS figure. It's just TC that are outright liars.
14. I use a mixer with a DI from either my amp or an MXR DI box to get round the issue of it not sounding great.
15. Thanks mate, couldn't have asked for a better starting post! I shall find your thread tonight and be almost as nice.
16. I'm one of the people who found the Streamliner a bit ..... lacking? It's got volume for days but it just seemed a bit mushy in the lows and too tubey for my tastes. It does a very good SVT impression though. Very happy with my MB Fusion.
17. Can't believe you weren't after this sooner, WoT, just sold all my GK stuff.
18. As far as I'm aware they are yeah.
19. I had one of the originals, and they were brilliant. By all accounts these are just as good, if a little different.
20. A resigned 'I'm posting this on Monday regardless' bump. :-)
21. Hey folks, Recently bought a HB BA500H as a temporary amp to use because I was waiting for the new GK Fusion. Just been told this won't be till Janurary at the earliest so I bought the current 500 today and the HB is no for sale! I bought this about 2 weeks ago from Thomann because of it's good reviews on here and because of it's price. It's still covered by the 30 day return policy, but as I'd get my £150 back minus quite a bit of postage I thought I'd offer it on here too. They're up to £170 now and a steal at that price. I'm offering you the head, in literally as-new condition, in the original packaging, for £140 plus post. I appreciate it's a niche market, and if it doesn't sell soon I'll just return it to Thomann but I thought I'd at least offer! Grab yourself a totally giggable head for an absolute steal! 22.
See, I want to get away from massive. I have a 4x12 which is huge and a total tonnage. There is so much to consider and so much advice, but I still don't feel informed enough to make the right decision.
I've just noticed you're in Newcastle, if you wanna grab a beer some time, hit a music shop or two?
23. Yeah, in your situation mate I'd be looking for as much speaker area as you can afford and carry. Honestly, you'll thank me. I see 8x10s (particularly Marshall and Ashdown) going on ebay all the time for £100-200. That might be a place to start if you can handle the weight. Disclaimer: I'm a small-rig, neo, micro-head kinda guy. But I don't play in a detuned metal band. Anymore.
24. If you're DI all the time then it seems to me what you want is the ideal-sounding amp but volume is irrelevant. I think that's a situation lots of us would kill for. Seems to me you've got your choice mate, you can just put it on a chair as long as you and the band can hear it.
25. Like ANY other speaker use your noggin and if something sounds horrible then turn it down or stop.
