1.
Actually, I'm almost surprised this hasn't been done before...
It has, I've seen them for sale before as cheap ones on ebay and then places like Master Effects have built a few. It's a simple project to do yourself or have someone build one for you.
2. Hi! For sale is one Presonus Studio Channel rackmount channel strip. It's a very clear, studio-quality channel strip that shines with bass but it will obviously accept any instrument into the hi-z or microphones into the lo-z inputs. It's got a very high-gain preamp, then a tube stage, then switchable compressor and parametric eq, then another gain stage. Loads of ins and outs, phantom power, 80Hz HPF, everything really. If you want more information then the official page is here. When I bought it it was described as unused and I bought it for a rack rig idea that I kind of lost interest in. Don't judge me, we've all done it. So it is still as good as new and it comes with all of the box, psu, manuals, etc etc. I'm based about 10 minutes North of Newcastle and I'm happy to deliver locally. It's reasonably small so postage could work, let me know and I'll check prices to your location. Trades? Well, nothing particular, feel free to try though.
3. Hello everyone, Up for sale is my Hartke cab. This is a 1x12" that used to be a Kickback combo but it is now a 1x12" wedge cabinet. "Where did the head go?" I hear you ask. No idea! It was like that when I bought it. This has been in my rehearsal room for a few months and I've been using it with a GK MB150E or a GK MBF, both to great effect. It's an ideal little stage monitor or practice cab and it could definitely cover small gigs, they wind up pretty far if you hit them with enough juice! 150W, 6ohms, 1x12", wedge, Pickup or delivery from about 10 minutes north of Newcastle. Would I post it? Yes! Is it going to be worth it? Probably not! Thanks!
4.
Jack every cabinet from Behringer to Bergantino and Barefaced are compromises. There is no such thing as a mathematically perfect cabinet but some are better than others and some suit some people more than others.
Oh of course, I appreciate that fact and I know it was a sweeping generalisation. The point is though, there are a new breed of cabs that have been designed to cut through the marketing bull (admittedly just with different marketing bull!) that as far as I know started with Bill and has continued with the likes of Fearful. Cabs that were designed by engineers, if you will, rather than marketers. My point was that these newer, better-engineered (though ok, not perfect) cabs haven't exactly replaced GK, Markbass and Ashdown. So there's room for both.
5. Hey, my barefaced cabs are mathematically perfect. Good dispersion, designed to work well together etc etc etc. I do however, love Ampeg fridges and Hartke 4x10", two of the worst-designed cabs ever. This cab won't be good as in 'efficient, ideal power handling, getting the most out of the drivers' good. But it might very well be good as in 'sounds great that!'.
6.
The BP102 needs at least twice the volume you allocated to work well.

How much bigger would the cab need to be?
Same cab, seal one hole and use 1 speaker?? I assume the 4 ohm load wouldn't be ideal for your combo though.....
7. I've just spent AGES putting together a Presonus and power amp rig, and I live ten minutes outside of Newcastle! AGES! Gutted mate, gutted. Good luck with the sale though!
8. I bought two Roqsolid ones for the cabs that I bought, they're great. I then bought another Barefaced (used) that came wit a Roqsolid cover and it's nowhere near as good. Odd.
9.
I'm using a Behringer Micromix 4 channel powered mixer just now if I want to play along with something. And I have one of the early Vox Amplugs as another option. I'm just looking for the next step up really.
Fair enough. Then count me as a +1 for the GK MB200. I have two GK heads and three barefaced cabs, something along those lines would do you well.
10. For home practice with headphones and an aux in I always use a little mixer. I have a soundcraft compact and a brhinger xenyx, both of which are brilliant. That would be around £30 used or £70 new, so loads left later when you need a proper amp.
11. Please excuse the blue cable, black one ordered!
12. You'd be surprised how little bass you need to hear a bass guitar. There's not a whole lot going on below 50Hz for most of us, and if you're a Rickenbacker/plectrum kind of guy there probably isn't a great deal below 200Hz. Having said that, I assume that if you're thinking about going the route you probably have decent foh subs? If so then you'll hear plenty of LF sound from those and then pick up the detail from the monitor. Unless your stage is HUGE then this normally works really well.
13. Either head and one or two cabs depending. It's a pretty rubbish picture but there are: GK MB Fusion GK MB150E Barefaced Midget x 2 Barefaced Compact
14. Mate I love mine, they're great units and a massive step up from my Line 6.
15. Yeah is this the one that will bridge into 4ohms? It kind of looks like it if you zoom into the back panel but it's a bit blurry.
16. I just swapped my Stingray for Lee's, well, for Lee's Stingray. Basschat makes us do stupid things, right? Excellent basschatter, a pleasure to deal with and fair and honest throughout. Jack
17. That is actually the superior R5 from the previous range looking by the photos. Before they [s]ruined[/s] upgraded the great R series into the lackluster RB series. I had an R5 and a R115 cab as a gig rig for a bit. Still got my same-era R1 practice amp from then too. Don't sell yourself short!
If it helps I know a man who can fit a genuine Jensen DI for about £150. He's the only stockist of the correct parts in Europe
Put a countryman type 85 in the effects loop. Good luck with the sale, I'm very jealous.
19.
I used a Stingray with a Gallien Krueger MB Fusion and it was a pretty good pairing imo.
Me too, great combo. I'll add that it suited my old 1001-ii too.
20. Traded. Pending the usual, anyway.
21. Just bought a BF Midget from Jez. Great guy, smooth deal, lovely.
22. I bought Jeff's Dean Sledgehammer. Great buy and a pleasure to deal with, buy with confidence.
23. I've never thought about it. Just basses, aren't they?
24. I'm sorry, I know it must be annoying when people post in sale threads not asking to buy it but I came in here seeing if you wanted a 'Ray5 as a trade, you don't (4.9kg) so I'll just leave a note to say that's one of my favourite guitar colours ever.
25. BUMP. I have a great trade offer on the table, but me and the other owner are struggling to be able to meet up. By mutual consent this is still for sale until such time as we can arrange to get together. I have added trade options to the top post, I'm more than happy to entertain anything though. I'd be up for an unusual deal, like if you had a significantly cheaper bass and you could throw the rest my way in cash. My main gigging bass is a £300 Dean, so I do like the midrange stuff, ideal if you want to move to a Stingray and you don't want to sell your current bass! Go on try me, the worst I can say is no!
