1. Hi, My OLP MM3 has developed a static/crackle problem which also appears to be effecting my pedals (weird). Over time the pots (Artec SE2A) develop static. Usually resolved with a bit of vigorous use of the offending knob and occasional squirt of contact cleaner. But recently the jack has started the occasional crackle and even my compressor pedal switch has too (not sure it's related but it's the same symptom). Unfortunately it's not easy to repeat. I have had the scratch plate off and jack out and wiggled stuff with it all plugged in (thinking it might be a dodgy connection) with no result. Wondering what to do next. Ta
2. concave fingerboard???
3. Have no need now having replaced by a Moen. For some reason the threshold knob rotates more easily than the others. But it all works.
4. I got a Hartke Bass Attack instead.
5. Apologies if this is a double post. Though I had already posted today but cant find it. I am looking for a cheap DI with eq. This has EQ, speaker sim and headphone out. And all for 50 quid. Have found a favourable review and it seems Moen pedals are OK. 6. Would you consider posting?
7. I love playing this. It is sooo satisfying. Good job.
8. Yes. That just occured to me. Opens up the options a lot I suspect.
9. Hi. That is the obvious solution but It introduces to many steps. e.g don't want to have to turn a computer on just to record someone talking.
10. Hi. Not bass related but couldn't find a better place to post. I am looking for a bit of kit to regularly record talking voice for the web. It should be simple to use (press to record and stop), installable (so it doesnt walk), network accessible (so the recording can be edited from a networked computer and published to the web) and maybe produce low bitrate (to keep stuff small). The closest I can find is the Marantz PDM580 but it's way too expensive. I am wondering if there is something else. Ta
11. I love these.
12. Wow! He's good. Thanks
13. From Area 52 by Rodrigo Y Gabrila and C.U.B.A. Best to start listening at 2.59. http://grooveshark.com/s/Juan+Loco/4q3iw0?src=5
14.
i use some offcuts from my garden hose, and they work quite well, but i think this stuff is also good http://www.ebay.co.u...#ht_1341wt_1163
How would I use that?
15. My nut is a bit wide too I suspect (lighter strings now) but not sure if the nut has much to do with it. It happened when fretting strings too.
16. #Ghost Bass. I installed a string tree recently to so no problem with good pressure against the nut. Rather surprisingly I notice today that the noise appears to have gone. Very strange. Maybe it was a bedding in thing??
17. It's not pickup height either. The only things that seem to make a difference are: 1. Picking position (closer to the bridge is worse) 2. Which pickup is being used (the bridge is worse) 3. Using EQ to cut the top end. 4. Some amps. #garethfriend. What strings are you using? Mine is strung with .40-125 Super Slinkys
18. Thanks for all the help on this. I will probably try and ignore it...
19. Noticed that it depends on where I attack the strings. I tend to attack them between the pickup and the bridge. Over the pickup it's less noticeable. Close to the neck it way less noticeable. Also seems to be an kind of high overtone that fades quickly. Maybe by attacking close to the bridge I am creating more overtones?
20. Ta. I did wonder if it was that. It seems to happen when I play lightly too (but not as much). BTW I don't use a pick, only my fingers. Just tried a pick and it's not as noticeable as it gets hidden by the attack.
