Cheers buddy! I love the TonePump too. It's cutting and can be quite vicious, and boy is it hot! And it is indeed the non adjustable TonePump. Here are a few close-up images of the 'damage'. Although to be fair, the scratches can quite easily be buffed out, especially that the poly finish is so darn thick on these.

A few years back, Mark and I straight swapped a couple of Spectors. Got myself a nice blue Euro 4 from him, and he got my Euro 6 LX Spalted. And just this week, he bought the Euro 4 back off me! And despite a 'possible lost parcel' scare (TNT ), we kept good comms right throughout the transaction and was absolutely painless. A true gentleman. Thanks again Mark. Enjoy the 'Blue Beastie'... AGAIN!

Here is a pre-LX Spector Euro (2002) in a stunning blue gloss. Has the stock EMG PJ pickup setup, but the preamp has been replaced with a EMG BQS preamp. Unlike the newer Euro LX range, the first Euros have solid figured maple body wings. Usual 34" scale maple neck-thru with rosewood fretboard with the same MP/Abalone inlays they use on the new LX range. Frets are chunky with absolute minimal wear. This has been fitted with a Hipshot Bass Xtender tuner. Could be due a truss rod adjustment and setup. Included are Schaller strap locks (in Chrome, sorry!) and a Hiscox moulded hard case. There is a little grazing on the top of the headstock, and a slight ding on the side bottom of the body, but nothing serious. Has the usual thick and durable 'dipped in plastic' lacquer finishes we expect from Spector. The gold has worn a little on the bridge, which is quite common. No fret wear. Selling as I went all boring as I get older by starting to like Fender Precisions. Her name is Matilda. We've had some great times together. I'm unsure if I want to sell, so just putting the feelers out if anyone is interested. I would take a sensible offer for it if the right buyer came along. Can't seem to change the Price on this post, but my asking price is £800. UK Mainland Delivery for £25, 24h service and insured. Will deliver FOC in the NE UK.

This is an earlier (2006) Spector Euro LX 5 string, which has 2 EMG 40DC pickups and the Spector TonePump 9V 'Boost Only' preamp. The preamp output is soooo hot, it makes amps sweat! The controls have been changed over to feature Volume-Blend-Bass-Treble, rather than the stock arrangement of having a volume control for each pickup. The flame on the maple top is absolutely mesmerising, the photos do not do it justice, has to be seen in the flesh. Same construction as the newer Euro LX range, maple 35" scale neck-thru, rosewood fretboard with nice chunky frets and the typical Spector MOP inlays. Body wings are a sandwich of Alder back, Walnut veneer and flamed maple top. The neck is quite narrow for a 5 string, but fat. Feels great and plays fantastically, like butter in your hand. Could be due a truss rod adjustment and setup. Included are gold Schaller strap locks and a Hiscox moulded hard case. There are a couple of dings on the back of the body, a little grazing on the top of the headstock, and a tiny ding in the front of the body. However, Spector's lacquer finishes are so darn thick and durable, they are only on the surface of the lacquer. The gold has worn a little on the bridge, which is quite common. No fret wear. Selling as it's just not getting played as much as it should. It breaks my heart to see this one go, we have had some good times together. Her name is Betty. Whoever buys her must promise to treat her well, and play her every day. Sensible offers. UK Mainland delivery at £25, 24h service and insured. Will deliver FOC in the NE UK.
Thats a real shame! Rosewood necked ones are hard to come by. I also have a 78 toaster. Both are great basses for different reasons.
It is a shame. When I found out that this is not what a T40 is supposed to look like, I was a bit annoyed. I may be on the prowl for a body, just to get it up to code. Interesting fact that the rosewood necks are not as common.

Awesome! I have a '79 T40, but the previous owner chopped half the body off making it neck heavy. Looks a bit ugly, but it was my first bass, and I just cannot bring myself to part with it. Has the toaster pickups, but heard those blades pack some punch. Has this sweet upper-mid honk which is so adorable haha!
