  1. Two awesome pedals for sale... Please note that I can generally only post things on Fridays but will endeavour to do better than that. ThorpyFX Camoflange V1. Boxed and in good condition. See velcro on the bottom. This is an absolutely immense analogue flanger. £160 posted ***sold*** Pics here: https://imgur.com/a/camoflange-MY0wYJf Gojira FX Mr Sparkle Drive (TS808 with bass boost switch and symetrical/asymetrical clipping switch). Nice graphics and awesome Mr Sparkle knobs. Comes with a nice big Mr Sparkle tin to keep it in as well. £70 posted Pics here: https://imgur.com/a/mr-sparkle-xBxjq4S Would consider trades for a decent bass preamp, something I can use direct-to-desk
  2. I would personally argue that Blink are not quite as big as Green Day, but in terms of star power and fame you have to remember that unlike Mike Dirnt, Mark Hoppus is the front man / singer / face of Blink 182. Personally I think the bass looks great but too pricey for my blood. If it was a few hundred cheaper I'd probably get one.
  3. Not that I know of. I've always assumed its a variant of the Distortron/Box of Rock but 1) thats an assumption and 2) I don't think there's many clones of those either. There is a Pedalpcb board for it, so you could build your own. Musikding sell kits if you wanted. The enclosure is irritating, but I don't mind too much because I use so few effects on bass anyway - so putting a "board" together isn't an issue.
  4. No its an electra VS4, I think one of the earlier ones that are Fender shaped
  5. The bridge in the manual isn't the same as mine, that's why I'm asking!
  6. Can I get you guys to clarify for me? In this picture , as I understand it screws 1-2-3 are used to set the string height, screw 4 is the screw to change the string-to-string spacing and screw 5 (slightly hidden) is to alter the intonation. Sound right? Do any of them need to be 'unlocked' to adjust the others?
  7. Hello, Asked elsewhere but realised this might be a better place to ask. Can anyone tell me what size allen key i need to adjust the bridge on a sandberg? Its an older Electra series, if that matters. Also, any tips for setting up the bridge? Looks like a right pain in the arse.
  8. Hello, bit of a necro bump but does anyone know what size Allen key is needed for a sandberg bridge? Its for a slightly older Electra series, if that matters...
  9. This thread is relevant to my interests. Currently I'm using the Boss Me-90b but I quite fancy something a bit smaller. I'm after very similar tones to you, really so thinking about exactly the same pedals...
  10. Wal Jaydee Status Graphite Overwater Sei Basses Shuker Enfield Ruach BassLab Warwick Sandberg Höfner Mayones Maruszczyk Jerzy Drozd Le Fay Ritter Gus Guitars ACG Pretty sure all of the above are European, many Brits too
  11. I've still to find a bass overdrive I like as much as the zvex basstortion. It's really rather good.
  12. Just read this sad news. Dave came to my house when he sold me a bass, an absolute gentleman --- very generous and we had a right good natter about all things bass. Life really sucks sometimes
  13. I bought a bass from @sPiKi and he shipped it to me in Scotland. Fantastic experience and a credit to basschat - bass exactly as described, super fast delivery, well packed and impeccable comms. Thanks again Brian!
  14. Most things that become collectable usually start off being either rare and/or fragile to start with - if they're ubiquitous and robust then they're just never going to reach big bucks, it has to be something that isn't easy to find, either because barely anyone had one or because all the originals broke. Its pretty unusual for bass guitars to be so fragile that they deteriorate irreperably, so that leaves you with guitars that were either rare to start with, or things that were pretty unpopular so nobody bought them - until someone somewhere made a cool record with them. I'd suggest Fender Dimension basses possibly tick that box, also the Squier 40th Anniversary models is an interesting shout but I don't think they're unique enough to ever get properly collectable. To be honest though I think the naysayers above are correct. The number of collectors is diminishing, not growing. There will definitely be some fire sales in the next decade. Thankfully I've always bought my gear to use and not lied to myself that it's an investment.
  15. Having sold hundreds of items via eBay I wouldn't pay much attention to the Views count. The number of Watchers is the only thing that appears to correlate with sales.
  16. 2004 (I think...) Gibson SG Special. Bought this recently but have come to the conclusion I'm more of a PRS man (ugh) so it has to go. Points to note: After it came to me I replace the dusty old Gibson tuners with Gotoh locking tuners - much nicer. Still have the originals. Whoever did the wiring job was having an off day, so I replaced the pots, jack, and wiring with a "modern wiring" loom from Jame's Home of Tone --- CTS pots, switchcraft jack, and a solderless connector so changing pickups is easy if you want to. Pickups are non-original. I don't know what they are and neither did the previous owner but they 1) sound good to me 2) sound a bit PAF-fy (but I am definitely not an expert...) Guitar has definitely been played (personally I think this is a good sign). There are dings, swirls, paint chips, scratches etc to the body, headstock, etc. I've tried to photograph the worst of them. Its not a case queen! I'm looking for £799 collected from Burntisland, Fife or can meet in Haymarket in Edinburgh during the working week. ***SOLD*** Not really looking for trades but you can ask. A Squier P-bass, perhaps? I'm also interested in Boss stomps or interesting amps... Gallery of lots and lots of pics here: https://imgur.com/a/sg-special-VM7Fwcd Selected highlights below:

  17. They didn't use to be. I bought a set for £35 a few years ago. During covid the price went nuts and then never came back down.
  18. Lots of pedals for sale / trade, mainly Chorus and Delay. Prices include postage. Would consider trades for: Strymon Deco / Boss MD-200 SFX Micro Thumpinator. Not entirely sure which version this is. Comes as pictured, full working order. £90 ***SOLD*** Pics: https://imgur.com/a/RuLilrq ------------- ThorpyFX Deep Oggin. Absolutely glorious thing, but I can't keep this AND a Camoflange so this one gets the chop. Boxed. £150 ***SOLD*** Pics: https://imgur.com/a/ztPYteG ----------------- Boss DM-2W delay pedal, boxed although the box is a bit tatty. £100 ***SOLD*** Pics: https://imgur.com/a/vKwOfwC ----------------- Caroline Kilobyte Lo-Fi Delay. No box. £150 posted. ***SOLD*** Pics: https://imgur.com/a/kilobyte-nWPhfoO ----------------- Ibanez AD9 Analogue Delay. Boxed. £85 Pics: https://imgur.com/a/MexL3Il ------------------ Hungry Robot Moby Dick v2 - cool analogue delay pedal. Boxed. NOTE THAT THE FOOTSWITCH IS ON THE WAY OUT. Basically, sometimes you have to turn it on and off a few times. Not a problem with a pedal switcher or for recording. I'd fix it myself but I can't face doing it. Instead you can have it for a bargainous £75 Pics: https://imgur.com/a/AqId176 ------------------ Way Huge Swollen Pickle MkIIs . Most awesome fuzz. Good on bass too. Boxed. £105 posted. ***SOLD*** Pics: https://imgur.com/a/uvw2Jbm ------------------ DOD FX60 stereo chorus. This is old (80s), made in the USA, and has THAT chorus sound. Has been through the wars but works fine. Comes with PSU adaptor so you can power it from a standard connector. £60***SOLD*** Pics: https://imgur.com/a/fx60-2fc9nl5 ------------------
  19. Guilty as charged. A great bass but not for me 😞
  20. Bump - I have some work travel coming up and could potentially bring the guitar... Will be in Preston (Lancs) early evening on 27th August. Will then be in central Nottingham weekend of Sept 14th.
  21. Very nice! I tried out a five string version recently and it was fantastic, however I really didn't like the preamp - too noisy - so I passed on it. Enjoy!
  22. Hi folks, Up for grabs is my Fender Reggie Hamilton Standard (i.e. mexican) Jazz Bass. Its a really cool bass but 1) I'm very much a passive bass fan and 2) my wife's car just died and I'd prefer to sell a bass than put a dent in my holiday fund so here we are. Bass is in good used condition and these seem to be very popular on this forum so hopefully you all know what it is! My asking price is £575. ***SOLD*** I am initially offering this as collection only from Burntisland, Fife, or I can meet near Haymarket in Edinburgh during the working week. Trade wise: I'd prefer a straight sale but I'm also a realist about my GAS levels---things that will really tempt me are a Bass VI, Danelectro of some flavour, or something P flavoured---four strings, passive models only, maximum nut width 41mm. Pinching a description from elsewhere: When you back up as many different kinds of musicians as Reggie Hamilton, you need a bass that can adjust. Reggie's Jazz model is set up to cover the spread. It combines a Noiseless Jazz pickup in the bridge position, and an American Series Precision pickup at the neck. The pickups can be switched to passive or active mode via a mini-toggle. Active mode has a 3-band EQ with boost/cut on each band. In passive mode you get master volume and a pan control between the pickups. Another custom feature is a Hipshot Bass Xtender drop D key on the E string to give you the low D without going to a 5-string. Alder body Maple neck Rosewood fingerboard 20 frets 1 American Series Precision Bass pickup (neck) 1 Custom Noiseless Jazz Bass pickup (bridge) Mini-toggle active/passive switch Active mode: master volume, pickup pan, 3-band EQ with bass, mid, and treble boost/cut Passive mode: master volume, pickup pan Black/white/black 3-ply pickguard on black version American Vintage Jazz bridge Open gear tuning machines Hipshot Bass Xtender drop D key on the E string 34" scale Fingerboard: Rosewood, 9.5 in. Radius Width at Nut: 1.50 in. (38mm) I am not sure of the exact weight, its a bit heavier than my other Jazz basses, definitely more than 4kg. If I don't get any local interest I will be able to post it, so please shout. Complete gallery of pictures is here: https://imgur.com/a/fender-reggie-hamilton-yhIokMn Selected highlights below. Please shout if there's a particular picture you want. Photographing a gloss black bass isn't easy - apologies for all the reflections! NB There is a slight ding to the very tip of the headstock front and back --- please see the pictures. This happened during transit to me when I bought it (I think the top of the headstock got "squashed") and is purely cosmetic. It came to me in a (now damaged) hard case which I will throw in with the sale.
  23. Price drop, I want this gone please
