An American rock band who, in the age of streaming, have sold about ten million albums and who sell out arena tours worldwide. This forum isn't half obtuse sometimes.

Fender Tidepool - what colour is it really? (see comparison pics)

I also have one, and I agree this is a good photo. Its really difficult to get it accurate! I'm possibly selling mine, but if I don't I'm definitely going for a black three-ply scratch plate like @Happypants. Looks amazing. -

I have a 60s Vintera P, but I'm wondering if I'd get on better with a slimmer neck, so thinking about putting a jazz neck on it. I'm having a hard time working out how easy this is to do. "ideally" I'd just get a Vintera Jazz neck with a maple fretboard and shove it on the P, but 1) that would cost £400 and 2) I don't know if it would fit. Do "all" Fender necks fit on "all" Fender bodies? Any other recommendations for a good quality J neck?

Bought a pedal from @rmcki Paid for it at 0830 on a Wednesday. Plugged it in to try it out at 1900 the next day. Can't get much better than that!

I'm confused. What did you buy? The lekato? Any chance of a link? -
My TRB---which I sold and with hindsight should have hung onto---sounded absolutely tremendous stock. So put them in the other one, or neither.

Completely agree. Back when I worked in acoustics "professionally" I met a professional trumpet maker who told me that he was obliged to offer instruments made of different metals because his clientele expected him to. They were convinced it made a difference to the sound - he was the opposite, but business is business. FWIW, brass players are similarly "convinced" that you can hear the difference in materials. The research the last time I looked (about fifteen years ago) was inconclusive. This suggests that if there is an effect, its likely way more subtle than people will tell you it is. This is where I stand on things like maple vs rosewood fretboards.

I like the design of that a lot, but the guys are right about the photos.

What Basslines make you happy to play?

Forever Lost by Magic Numbers. Its just so much fun. -
I almost exclusively listen to digital these days. BUT - I am not a Spotify (or equivalent) user. I like to own my music - so I buy cds and rip them. Sometimes, I buy downloads directly from bands on bandcamp. For a select few artists, i will buy their vinyl (and probably the cd and/or download as well) because i am a collector and because i like to support them directly. But a sad amount of my vinyl never actually gets played.
