1.
Funny, and I'm not tribute band bashing here, but to me there is something wrong with these guys. It is almost like it is so polished and finely honed that they have sucked any life out of the performance.
Some people said the same about The Eagles themselves.
 2. I don't actually mind unusual designs but not this one.
 3. Seen this before. It's rather unpleasant. Give me an ordinary Fender please.

 5.
... And definitely my favourite bass player who isn't in a band I like.
I get the feeling that he could be in any band and he would just play whatever was right for that band.
 6.
yep, I use the black 1mm ones, never worn one out yet, keep losing the little buggers though
I occasionally use a pick and usually those 1mm black nylon Dunlops and they are hard to find when lost. My guitraist son uses the 0.94mm bright green ones which are much easier to find.
 7.
The one that really pisses me off "will travel 25 miles radius for petrol money"
... and that's about 60 pence at present prices,

 9.
I would have to disagree ...
Well, fair enough. My experience was in 2011 so maybe things have changed.
 10.
... the guitarist in my band constantly sounds SH*T ...
So why are you still playing with him? Are you making loads of money?
 11. I expect nobody fears dropping lots of picks. The point is to access a fresh pick very easily
 12. In my experience a Thomann setup is not enough. They will fit the strings you want but the bass arrives with the bridge unattached and strings fitted only loosely. You'll need a proper setup - allow about £100.
 13. Some amps are switchable for voltage but some require a transformer. When you look at the dream price don't forget to add shipping and then add another 25-30% for customs duty plus VAT plus handling charge.

 16.
Cheers essentialtension! Jack Casady rocked the guild! I'm gonna go to wunjo see if they have single coil, would suit my preference. Although would you say his tone in white rabbit was humbucker?
White Rabbit predates the Guild and was Casady's Jazz bass with a Precision humbucker at the neck ...
FlyGuitars So when you first joined Jefferson Airplane you were using Fender basses? Jack Casady Yeah the first three albums are recorded with a Fender Jazz bass, and I customised that by adding a P pickup right butted up against the neck. So in essence I had on the very bassy end of the speaking length of the string an offset P pickup and then two bar pickups of the Jazz bass. 17.
Ok guys, if i were to chuck a Jack Casady epiphone into the mix What would you say?
You need to try one. It's based on a Gibson Les Paul Signature bass - long 34" scale, low impedance pickup, varitone switch.
 18. Get a passive fretless Fender and put on John East Retro preamp in it. Sorted.
 19. 1970s and 1990s reissue with De Armond Gold Tone humbuckers ...
 20.
I bought my Guild Starfire in the early 80s. It was a 70s model, black and had twin pickups and they were definitely humbuckers, which is one of the things I didn't like about it. The new ones have single coils.
Ah yes, 1960s was single coils, 1970s was humbuckers, 1990s reissue was humbuckers, 2010s reissue is single coils.
