  1. OK, I remember Yardley's. I bought an Aria there in probably 1980/81
  2. Guitar is sometimes slightly too forward, if you ask me, but bass sounds fine, especially on Ticket, nice tone. Occasionally, e.g. Come Back Down, bass could be a little more prominent but still ok I'd say.
  3. I remember Jones & Crossland. And George Clay in Broad Street. And Wasp on Bristol Street with Nest Studio underneath. And some others that I don't recall the names of.
  4. Where was Musical Exchanges? One memory says Snow Hill and the other says Broad Street. I'm 35 years away from Brum, some of it is a bit vague now.
  5. He doesn't quite deny it. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/mar/08/slade-guitarist-dave-hill-stroke-depression-glam-rock
  6. I've heard Dave Hill tells a different story.
  7. Yes, I remember the Navigation Street corner shop but I bought the Precision in Dale End. It's possible it was early 1977 and not 1976.
  8. That's Slade's drummer Don Powell and I claim my £5.
  9. I bought a Fender Precision there in 1976.
  10. The audience look dead, when they should have been dancing. The contrast with the more laidback studio version is striking.
  11. What? (I think I said the same last time as well.)
