  1. Thanks, The in and out white wire tags on volume pot are NOT linked. I think you're correct regarding the only link from pot casings to the jack is the metal plate. The nut on the jack socket did loosen up a little a while ago and I did tighten it, although that predates the volume pot problem by several weeks. I'll tighten the nut again. But would the lack of grounding from pots to the socket cause permanent full volume?
  2. Maybe I should add that it's been working fine for the three and a half years that have passed since I bought it from @Clarky.
  3. I'm not much good on electrics so forgive me if I am going doolally. Everything is fine and at full volume ... except turning the volume pot has no effect on volume. Turn it down and it's still on full. The wiring all looks good. Do I need a new volume pot? Or what? Thanks.
  4. Duck Dunn with the MGs on the 1967 tour of Europe ...
  5. Peter sold me an EH Micro Pog. Very straightforward and smooth transaction, as always.

  7. Aren't the Ignition Hofner basses fully hollow. I'm pretty sure mine is fully hollow, like the German-bulit ones. It's the mid-priced contmeporary series that has a centre block. GLWTS!
  8. [quote/]The bass plays wonderfully though it will need a simple rewiring to repair the pickups which currently do not pass signal. After receiving a simple repair, this bass will make for an incredible instrument.[/quote] That will be why it's JUST UNDER 10K!!
  9. My son lives in Todmorden and is looking for a luthier to replace tuners, refit the magnetic pickup, and set up an archtop floating bridge style acoustic guitar. It's a Yun Zhi made in Beijing and looks roughly like this: Any one got any recommendations? Thanks.
  10. Still has the mutes too, very unusual.
  11. Yes not really a real short scale bass; I'm so glad you pointed that out just in case anyone really thought it was really real. If you don't like the idea, don't try it. And, anyway, it's as likely to put somone off short scale as encourage them.
