  1. https://www.gak.co.uk/en/fender-mustang-musicmaster-bronco-bass-multi-fit-case/80018 Mind you, a bit overpriced at £200!!!!!
  2. Maybe so, but I wasn't suggesting a permanent arrangement, merely a way of checking out the feel and sound of a 30" for the cost of a capo.
  3. Fender FBSS-610 Short Scale Bass Gig Bag ... https://www.gak.co.uk/en/fender-fbss-610-short-scale-bass-gig-bag/921347?
  4. Yes I have done. No one really notices. If you want to try it tune a 34" scale bass a whole tone down to DGCF. Put a capo at fret two and you have a 30" scale EADG bass. Nice!
  5. https://www.pickguardplanet.com/ From California and not cheap but it lines up perfectly - as long as you order the correct one.
  6. Very nice ... I have a CIJ in Fiesta Red too.
  7. While allowing for exceptions to my rule, I'd limit any instrumental section to an absolute MAXIMUM of eight bars. And I wouln't call it a solo. And I don't mean only bass. I don't need to be reminded of the 1970s, I was there.
  8. It seems it's maybe not a straightforward calculation anyway but also ... We filled a pub and there was lots of dancing and boozing yet when we got paid and we asked for another gig the landlord said ... 'No. I don't like you.'
  9. If he plays in a band, he ought to know not to interfere with other people's equipment.
  10. I'm pretty sure I have failed auditions because I queried the correctness of the chords the guitarist was playing.
  11. Jet Harris was the first bassist I was aware of and listened to very carefully. I didnt have a bass or even a guitar but I still mimed his playing in my bedroom.
  12. I asked my son, who I am afraid to say is more widely knowledgable about music than me, if he was familiar with Piero Piccioni. Of course he was, and then also recommended the more contemporary El Michels Affair ...
  13. Agreed Jazz bass and flats played with a pick nearer to the neck is very much the sound of that era and that could easily be what this is but I feel I hear something else, maybe in the recording process or pre-amp. Listening again , I am more leaning towards it being an electric bass with flats and pick. Anyway, it sounds great.
