1.
My pubes have gone grey though, I'll tell you that for nothing!
Good job you're not charging because no-one would have paid up.
 2.
The maid at the Hotel in Bath.
Did someone steal her strap?
 3.
ahh.... yes, suddenly realised how in internet land this could get twisted around. It was more an innocent comment on the users of basses than anything else based on my youtube searching. the whole funkadelic/rickenbacker thing also, it's kinda interesting isn't it? like different music uses different instruments, and different things become popular in different places- but I guess we/the net isn't mature enough to talk about race without it be coming racist. oh well
That's because it's not about 'race' it's about genre of music.

 5.
Thanks for the promising advice guys. I've heard somewhere that the TI short scale strings are actually medium scale as they assume that short scale basses have a trapeze bridge. Can anyone confirm this?
The JF324s are 32" (hence the 32 part).
 6. Yes. TI Jazz Flats on my Michael Kelly. Excellent.
 7. Did a guitar/bass trade with Si. Excellent communication, and a spot on time meet in Tesco's car park. I highly recommended that you do a deal with Si at your earliest opportunity.
 8.
Only a complete fecking snowball would think there was a prize. Look it's Maori Poppins, cor blimey guv'nor, ekky-thump, jellied eels, wee laddie... baby.
Whatever you do, don't search google images for 'dick van dyke strap'.
 9.
Ploughing that beanfield as I type.
Nice work if you can get it.
 10.
I've only got this one and I'm using it tonight.
Is that for the sex farm job?
 11.
ET beat me by 2 hours. By coincidence I was reading that very wikipedia entry just last night, having had a short video session on youtube. Leon Wilkeson is even featured on the 'find a grave' link lower down the page. Balcro.
Er ... one hour, methinks.
 12.
If it's too generous I'll take it back.
You could have one of these back if I'd had one in the first place:
 13. Phil Jones Bass Buddy, bass in, laptop in, and Beyer headphones.
 14.
Ocean turquoise metallic.
I think you're correct.
 15.
Oddly enough I'd had a look at this wikipedia page earlier tonight." Wilkeson acquired a "Fenderbird" bass from John Entwistle. The Fenderbird bass mated a custom made Gibson Thunderbird body to a Fender Precision Bass neck. Wilkeson can be seen playing this bass in a 1975 Lynyrd Skynyrd performance at the Old Grey Whistle Test" Thankyou Essential Tension , if I had a strap to give away it woulds be on it's way.
Too generous. Thank you.
 16.
Crikey! (is that a correct vernacular rejoinder??)
Only if you went to Eton.
 17.
Where exactly are you based?
Where exactly would be best? I have a car.
 18.
DOES THIS THREAD HAVE A PRIZE? IF SO, IS IT AVAILABLE IN THE UK? IT BETTER NOT BE A STRAP. I'M NOT EVEN f***ing KIDDING.
I didn't realise there was a prize. What is the prize?
 19. Gibson Thunderbird body, Fender Precision neck, i.e. Fenderbird.
 20. I would have guessed Ice Blue Metallic too.
 21.
No! It's the bow for me.
French or German? Wood or carbon fibre?
 22. Apologies to the OP, because I realise sometimes these things need to be asked, but the answer is always going to be neither. This whole nonsensical debate also tends to assume that there is one sound from a pick and one sound from fingers. This is totally not so. Jame Jamerson does not sound like Jaco Pastorius. JJ Burnell does not sound like Joe Osborne.
