1. ... and having just played the A string, his finger is resting against the E string and pushing it slightly towards the edge of the fingerboard.
 2.
i wonder whether english is their first language.
They must think that a UK number plate can be used to form any anagram you like.
 3. My Lakland Decade had the two big one small setup but I changed to three big.
 4.
Anyone care to share how LaBellas compare to D'Addario Chromes?
I haven't used Chromes for quite a while but IIRC brighter sounding and not as smooth under the fingers, similar tension. The La Bellas are more thumpy, more old school sounding.
 5.
Dave, It doesn't look like I've had a 45-105 set of GHS so sorry can't help there. I've GHS Brite Flats 49-108 M3075 which have dark blue silks & GHS Black Nylon Tape Wound 50-105, 3060 have bright red. Cheerz, John
OK thanks.
 6.
BA55 ACE This Plate can be used to form the following words bass, bee, see, bao, soc, sae, ass, ace, asa, sac, baa
????????
 7.
HI Dave, I'll have a look at my old packets, not sure if I've had a 45 set or not. Cheerz, John
Thank you.
 8.
My favourites remain GHS Precision Flatwounds in 55,70,90,105, personally I find they feel better in every way to the LaBellas.

Deep Purle at the tuner, bare naked at the bridge
John, do you know what colour the silks are on the 45-65-85-105 set?
 9.
Personally for flats I like the Ernie Ball Group III flats 45/65/80/100 best
An earlier post seemd to reckon that those are actually D'Addarios in a different bag.
 10. I saw Hawkwind several times in the early 70s, with Lemmy and Stacia, but I can't actually remember much about it.
 11.
Can anyone tell me why this is so? Thanks.
More likely to break, especially with flats.
 12.
I have an American Deluxe Jazz with the option, but I get the feeling that by the time I've unwound and reinstalled the strings I will have forgotten the sound to make a close A-B comparison. However, if there is a difference would it not be to do with anchoring the string directly to the body rather than through the bent bit of tin?
Record it before and after. I've never heard a difference.
 13.
I have Pyramid Gold flats on my 63P and they are very soft compared to Chromes or La Bellas - they feel like they've been worn in for years immediately out of the packet. Very deep and thumpy (think Motown/Jamerson sonically) and completely unslappable. Only problem is that the E string is hit-or-miss in my experience, sometimes being deader than a dodo
... and they have lilac silks, nice. I've got them on my Decade.
 14.
Deep Purle at the tuner, bare naked at the bridge
Mmmm ... sexy.
 15.
There's also the 760FM with light blue silks (49-109), I use - which is between 760M & 760FS. Not quite as heavy as the Jamerson set - nice tension for me, but with still plenty of thump if needed.
I've never come across those. I think I may have assumed that 760M and 760FM were the same.
 16.
My favourites remain GHS Precision Flatwounds in 55,70,90,105, personally I find they feel better in every way to the LaBellas.
I believe those are the same as Lakland Joe Osborn Flats. What colour silks do they have? The Osborns are black silks.
 17.
TI Jazz Flats for me. Don't like the sheer tension of most flats...
I like those as well although moving from the La Bellas to the TIs or vice versa can be a bit of a shock.
 18.
http://www.stringbus...GS%20LA%20BELLA
They've got the 760M but FL and FS are out of stock.
 19.
I should have said haven't snapped yet
Yes, better not count those chickens.
 20.
FWIW I've through strung mine and they haven't snapped. I was very careful and the angle doesn't look 'that' bad.
They don't always snap, they are just more likely to if string-through.

 22.
Thank you Highfox - yes my bass is toploadable - I may go for the FL version then and get myself groovin'
There's a set in between the 760FL (light gauge- red silks ) and the 760M (Jamerson gauge - blue silks) called 760FS (standard gauge - black silks).
 23.
Subdued..??? is it..? Jeez...I think some might have a few issues...and I only read half a page
I thought so too, and I read it all.
 24.
I enjoyed that . Didn't know the number but the twin guitar solo near the end was a bit of a giveaway as to the original band.
Ditto, but I assume that it's Walman's band.
