  1. Duck Dunn with the MGs on the 1967 tour of Europe ...
  2. Peter sold me an EH Micro Pog. Very straightforward and smooth transaction, as always.
  3. ... and that's after the botox and fillers .
  4. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/hofner-ignition-bass-hollow-or-semi-hollow.1092358/
  5. Aren't the Ignition Hofner basses fully hollow. I'm pretty sure mine is fully hollow, like the German-bulit ones. It's the mid-priced contmeporary series that has a centre block. GLWTS!
  6. [quote/]The bass plays wonderfully though it will need a simple rewiring to repair the pickups which currently do not pass signal. After receiving a simple repair, this bass will make for an incredible instrument.[/quote] That will be why it's JUST UNDER 10K!!
  7. Epiphone Casino ... or similar.
  8. My son lives in Todmorden and is looking for a luthier to replace tuners, refit the magnetic pickup, and set up an archtop floating bridge style acoustic guitar. It's a Yun Zhi made in Beijing and looks roughly like this: Any one got any recommendations? Thanks.
  9. Still has the mutes too, very unusual.
  10. Yes not really a real short scale bass; I'm so glad you pointed that out just in case anyone really thought it was really real. If you don't like the idea, don't try it. And, anyway, it's as likely to put somone off short scale as encourage them.
  11. There's an easy way to see how a 30" short scale woudl feel for you. Detune your 34" bass from E-A-D-G to D-G-C-F. Apply a capo at the second fret. You now have a roughly 30" short scale bass. The dots will be in the wrong place but try it. Or you can play an actual short scale in a shop. Furthermore, if you are using 'one-finger-per-fret', try instead using 'index-middle-ring/pinkie/together' like an upright bassist, at least in the lower positions.
  12. I like that a lot.
  13. I used Trubass on a Takamine B10 fretless for a while and they were fine, However I eventually replaced them with La Bella 760FS.
  14. Fifty years and I agree I have never heard a guitarist, or singer, or etc, mention Kenny Passerelli or Pierre Brocks. Can you tell me who they are?
  15. Nice! And didn't Marshall use the Fender Bassman as a model for the development of the early Marshall guitar amps?
  16. So, all in all, Leo got it right.
  17. 2022 purchases = nothing 2023 purchases = nada 2024 = ? No need to congratulate me.
