2.
I love you Clarky.
Not as much as I do.
 3.
OK Dave, how's about £95 posted (vs £129 at DV247, without post)?
PM sent.
 4.
Thanks ET! I will leave it a day or two and if no takers will simply sell for cash. Need to do a quick bit of reading up on BC to see what a fair price is s/h.
OK, thanks, just let me know.
 5.
As-new Sansamp VT Bass pedal with tin box* for trade for Sansamp BDDI in good nick. The VT Bass sounds better (better emulation of tube sound and does not suck out the mids) but I am a lazy sod and just want a one-pedal solution with DI out capability for my gigbag. Anyone? * the tin box is a bit dented (and the piece-of-card manual is a bit dog-eared) but I don't suppose anyone cares - the pedal it is supposed to protect is pristine!
Clarky, if you decide you want to sell for cash I'll take the VT off your hands.
 6.
... Anybody fancy this?
Yes, but can't afford it.
 7.
I wrecked a set of TIs putting them string though. They lasted about 10 minutes.
I've also had two breakages of TI Flats at the bridge saddle when strung through.
 8.
I've got one. It's the one in my avatar. I would have to agree that they are a bit special. I didn't realise that they were rare. There have been a few on ebay of late, in fact I'm sure I saw one just last week. I know there are few members on here who are not so keen on them and in particular the active circuitry. I have no complaints though and have found it to be powerful and versatile in use. It cuts through in a very pleasing manner in a band situation, where I dial in both pups but slightly more neck pup than bridge. The only thing lacking in my view, is a passive switching option. It's always worried me that if the battery goes down mid gig then the bass dies. Having said that it has never actually happpened and the battery life is extremely good. It's probably not the bass to go for if you like a traditional P, but in my opinion they look damn fine and sound great. Not too heavy, nicely balanced on a strap and therefore comfortable to gig with. Thoroughly recommended.
+1 on all that. The late 90s ones were only 9volt, from about 2004 they are 18volt. Here's my old 2006 which is now with Bottlebassman:
 9.
Cheers, do you have a contact? I have measurements/templates etc from an original 1960, just need more pix of the wear really, tho have got most of it covered.
I don't have a contact but by all accounts he is fairly approachable. Someone here must have a method of contacting him.
 10.
Hi all, I'm currently in the process of making a replica of the famous 59 Herbie Flowers jazz bass. I'm trying to get hold of as many hi res images of the bass as possible. If anybody has any I could use it would be much appreciated BTW I already have the Curtis Novak images. thanks guys Wes
Maybe if you contacted Herbie he'd let you take as many pics as you liked while you're examining his bass in every detail and taking measurements.
 11.
Hmmmm... Right, here's what to do: Fake your death, and then 'appear' to your son and warn him against using your stuff else he suffer the gravest of consequences! Truckstop
Sort of a Shakespearean bass bash play ... interesting ...
 12.
Simples; take all all the gear to the bash?
So, I need to hire a van?
 13.
Fake your death. Truckstop
That's no good,my son would take all my gear ... if he could get his hands on it before his mother sold it all.
 14. Hmmm ... I have a family commitment that day ... now how can I get out of it?

 16.
I'm really confused - how did you find that page if it hasn't appeared on the product index on the main website? And I'm going to possibly put my reputation on the line here by saying that I could really see myself owning that WHAT a passionate looking instrument! I think it is probably a bit over the time for what some people want in aesthetics, but I personally really love it.
The link is on the Lakland home page but I got it from the Lakland Owners Group forum here.
 17.
What an almost coincidence! I paid £32 for mine - my first ever bass! - in '73, though my one had the two selector switches under the front pup. It came with a snakeskin Selmer case and that amazing smell that comes out of those cases has stayed with me ever since. Like a mug, I pawned it a few years later.
My first bass too.
 18.
look ok...I think the colour and scratch plate are trying too hard tho.
Although they do match the bikini in your avatar.

 20.
Just an observation following a day playing a beaten up '63 3tsb. Wondered if anyone else felt the same Chris
So that'll be why you sold me the white one.
 21.
Thanks Dave, wasn't you was it?
Certainly not.
 22.
NKR Guitars have been trying to sell that for months - I corrected their original (very inaccurate) advert and dated the bass for them. That's a pretty good bass, nearly all-original, rare diamond pickups, very good nick for the age, with the desirable red vinyl finish that most Hofner collectors want to have an example of. It's not worth £695, though. He should get £400, might even get close to £500, but that'll be from a wealthy customer in the shop - not eBay.
Ah, I hadn't spotted that it was the vinyl finish; but, like you say, still not worth £695.
 23.
Well yer best get your bid in ....................................you can get a sensible bass for that dough
Yes, well the point of the thread - I didn't realise I'd need to make it explicit - was that this is a very high price.
 24.
I paid £20 in 2009 Cuffley Boot sale and sold it for £320 on Gumtree that same week .....it was pants
Mine wasn't pants, I wish I still had it.
