3.
Strangely, the fretless Version is not called the Zenith but the "Triumph".
Both fretted and fretless were initially called the Triumph II but there was some copyright or trademark issue over Triumph so both are now the Zenith. This is in the other thread on this bass. The Sam Ash website just has a mistake I think. The Epiphone Zenith page has Zenith for both.

 5.
That is absolutely fabulous! Bill McCormack on fretless, if I'm not mistaken. Bravo!
Yes it is Bill MacCormick. I really like that album - 801 Live: Phil Manzanera (guitars) Brian Eno (keyboards, synthesizers, guitar, vocals) Bill MacCormick (bass, vocals) Francis Monkman (piano, clavinet) Simon Phillips (drums) Lloyd Watson (slide-guitar, vocals)

Does anyone here know anything about bass ukuleles? Good brands, etc?
Kala Bass Ukulele - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=ukulele

I know they like to announce new things in advance but that must be knocking about the epiphone site 2 years now!!!
It is out, they have them in stock at Thomann. Hence the review and the sound samples I linked to.

 14.
Exactly. Chris Squire is much better than James Jamerson and Chris uses a pick.
... and so does Carol Kaye ... and she was a guitarist first
 15.
Only on coated strings
Very wise, Nigel.
 16.
I would play with a fried chicken drumstick if it sounded good to me.
Ah, but have you actually tried it?
 17.
+100 - wish I still had it - mine was the Thunderbird 30, and I have read there wasn't a lot of difference/extra volume/extra headroom with the 50. Cracking amp though. G.
Ah, now you mention it, my guitarist had the 30 watt version too - very loud.
 18.
Or the rather older combo? http://www.vintagehofner.co.uk/selmer/amps/sel33.html
Many years ago I was in a band with a guitarist and that combo - it was absolutely cracking, especially great tremolo.
 19.
You never see someone that's gone from guitar to bass play with their fingers do you? It's always a pick.
No, it's not always a pick at all. Four of the five guitarists I've played with in recent months don't use a pick even on guitar. Only one of them claims to play bass, which he does - with his fingers - very effectively. Not that it would matter one bit if someone did use a pick to play bass.
 20.
Who knows or cares.... But why would he have wanted to play Bass when he had Bernard Edwards? Garry
And anyway Bernard Edwards was a guitarist before he took up bass.
 21.
The Tony Franklin purely offered a combination of things I wanted (P bass, fretless, ebony, jazz pickup) I had never heard of the guy till I bought one. I don't care that his name is on the neck plate.
+1. I've never knowingly heard music featuring Tony Franklin. It's of no relevance to me owning or playing a bass with his name on the neckplate.
 22. I'm shocked at the number of bassists here who only know rubbish guitarists. You really need to get out more. As for rhythm guitar work being easy - you really need to listen to more music. I could go on ... but I can't be bothered.
 23.
Spot on. Ive put some glue on and its worked a treat. Hmmm, do i call the shop or not? I still intend to change the tuners so maybe ill just live with this for now.
If you're definitely happy with the rest and you're going to change the tuners anyway at some point then I'd just accept it as it is.
 24. I probably wouldn't change anything at all, except the strings. If I was going to change anything it wouldn't be until I'd played it stock for a while.
