2.
Are you on glue ?
No, Nigel's in good company:
A few other things you may consider taking along with you to gigs are: a flashlight for working in the dark, sandpaper (coarse and fine grit), extra screws, pick holders that attach to your guitar, an amplifier cover, and if you're a bassist, a pair of thin gloves (many bass players have told me its easier to play with gloves on). http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/columns/the...ts_toolbox.html
Although, it seems not everyone agrees:
Valos_Atreide : Good article.. did not know that about thing gloves for bass.. Ill have to give that a shot. Smashing Aztec : yeah i'll have to try the glove thing too - does any one know any good kinds of glove for playing bass? if so please tell me ithilien046 : dont get gloves for playing bass, just build up better callouses, which you can do by playing more often. sure, the idea of using gloves to make it hurt your fingers less is a logical idea, but you can't get the same kind of nuances with gloves that you can with your fingers. just my opinion
3. Got it. Just need an iPhone now.
 4. Back then I was usually playing with 100-200 watts of valve power through four or eight 12" speakers. It was loud and the sound quality was poor. These days I'm more likely to be using 300-500 watts of solid state or perhaps valve front end through one or two 12" or 15" speakers. It's still loud but the sound quality is no longer poor. My ears hurt much much less.
 5.
Etienne wears them because he has massively acidic sweat and he kills his strings within the first three numbers of a set
Man, that's evil sweat. What happens to people who have sex with him in the summer months?
 6.
The Johnston was available in Europe The Fiesta Red is worldwide I think. Don't mind if the "Shaguar" is a UK exclusive, since I'll be studying at the ICMP up-comming year. (I'm from Belgium)
I'd sort of taken 'UK only' to mean, in effect, 'Europe and not US' rather than literally UK only. I'm guessing, but the Biffy Clyro signatures were perhaps Europe only because Biffy Clyro are not well-known in the US. That wouldn't apply to a Squier Jaguar; so I'd find it hard to believe that all those US sales would be thrown away. Anyway, we'll find out soon enough.
 7.
Are you sure? He flogged me the active parts from his Precision Special as he said he was strictly a passive guy...
When I met up with Chris a few weeks ago he was definitely considering a P-retro. I don't know whether he actually got one.
 8.
Then why would a Fender rep. suggest such a thing?
Maybe he or she is not as up to speed on forthcoming product as he or she ought to be - or maybe some parts of Fender don't know what other parts are doing. Was the Fender rep quoted as saying 'might' be UK only - so maybe they just don't know, and are explaining away why they don't know. Who knows?
 9.
Were there other ones than? I know the James Johnston was a Western Europe exclusive, but that's the only domestic-related Squier I heard about...
That's the one I had in mind - and the Biffy Clyro guitarist's signature Strat, I believe. Are the fiesta red CV Precisions available in the US?
 10.
Soundclips sound really nice, especially the piezo sound. Still want the original Warwick Alien myself...
The piezo, especially, does sound nice. I'd like to hear the fretless with the La Bella Black Nylons.
 11.
Someone on TB said that a Fender rep. told him this might be an UK-exclusive Squier!
It wouldn't be the first UK only.
 12. Clarky, it's got to be rosewood ... and change the pickup cover to black as well ... and is that a Badass? PS I am saving up for your Mesa 12" but I'm not holding out much hope just at the moment.
 13.
Selling your Mesa walkabout = madness.
+1. He'll regret it.
 14.
Now should I buy one when they come out or wait till the flood of sales on here?
I'd advise waiting.
 15.
Hello, Thanks for your interest in the New Squire Jaguar Bass. It seems that some pre-release information has been leaked via the USA. Unfortunately we are unable to provided any release details as yet, these should be officially released within the next 3 weeks (including full specs and rrps). We currently believe the basses should be available to order from the end June with them arriving instores towards the end of July/Early August. Full details will be issued on the Squire website as well as details sent to you local Squire dealer. Kind Regards Bruce Coyle Fender GBI
16.
But it wouldn't be the first time fender have photoshopped their own pictures. Remember the '51 reissue and the sting sig pictures that have been mentioned before.
I agree that it could be real, but I'm not convinced yet.
 17.
Oh,I see where your coming from. In this case there was/still is a "team" ethos, and in fairness to the Drummer in question he was more "into" carrying round big gear and the resultant "tone" etc than I ever could have been (a real "gear" head if you know what I mean) at the end of the day Ive no real doubt this guy(drummer) did his best to "defend" me,as if I needed it. thats the type of guy he is. to be honest he is a friend truth to tell, it just didnt fit my standpoint to simply say: "punter slagged me of and mate/drummer didnt do enough to stop it" cos that aint the case, because he did. but I was saying why should he? ....telling me about it was just being honesty really! not some macheovellian scheme. Ill repeat, the slagging I got was quite intense it was imparted with honesty cos thats the type of guy this drummer is... quite a nice chap!! I know contradict myself in some ways..but..... I really shouldnt have started this should I? the "punter was just after my gig, I think, (which he'd never get! Ha Ha! )
OK, that makes sense.
 18. And £549 at GAK - which sounds like more than I'd want to pay.

 20.
There are a load of cool transcriptions of basslines by guys like 'Duck' Dunn,Jerry Jemmott, Rocco Prestia and others here..... http://pagesperso-orange.fr/freebasspart.p...ass_Players.htm
That's an excellent resource. I've not come across that before. Thanks.
 21. Mine's a blackface - so obviously I like that better.
 22.
Very pretty bass - hope it doesn't turn out to be a Photoshop fantasy... But if it does, go buy a Stagguar (or is that a Jagstagg?) for £130. And take a chill pill! Jon.
To me, it does look like a photoshop fantasy - the P and J pickups are different colours. Here's that Stagg Vintage M series:
 23.
Internet meltdown? We need Shambo with his avatar!
Be careful what you say, I posted a link to this thread.
 24.
Somebody's just started a thread on Talkbass about it. Stand by for teh internets to go into meltdown...
That somebody was me.
