2.
I really should sober up before reading BC posts!
Correct.
 3.
I think he means he already has it...
Correct.
 4. Nice book, I have that. And nearly every player is P bass with flats.
 5. The serial 384915 checks out as 1973-4. Strange that the seller gives the serial as 3849*5 when it's easily seen in one of the pics.
 6. I saw Motorhead last year at Brighton Dome. They were extremely loud - the kick drum sound compressed the chest cavity - and were totally perfect at what they do. Mind you, after about twenty minutes I felt that I'd seen and heard enough and was bored.
 7.
ti flats are loose feeling if you want flats and they are great strings
TI rounds are also low tension.
 8.
Is James using the side of his thumb to dampen the strings?
Yep.
 9.
I think my amp looks awesome but then I designed it (didn't take much)
Wayne, I think you should put these on your Christmas list:
 10. I'd want to see a lot more pics before I bid on that - the logo looks like an addition even though it's correct for a lefty; he couldn't be bothered to clean it; no sign of a serial; etc.
 11. If you are looking to date the bass and it's a Skyline then the first two numbers of the serial (e.g. 08*******) are the year. And at least sometimes the second pair are the month. 12.
With the Lakland DJ5, when did they start PLEK'n and change to Lakland pickups? Also, are the Aero pickups classed as better, or worse? Obviously difficult to answer....as its subjective. But which is the authentic DJ sound? Thanks
Lakland got the PLEK machine before November 2008 (when my Decade was plekked) but maybe not long before - I think it was referenced on their website from October 2008. The Lakland pickups were announced on October 4th 2006.
 13.
It's the thought that counts. And £5.00 is e-nuff for a modest bottle of Tesco Red.
Or eight cans of Carlsberg at my off-licence.
 14. I was a while ago but I settled for an unlined Tony Franklin.
 15.
Hi all, Got a bit of a dilemma here Iam having my MIA Fender Deluxe Precision set up and I am wondering whether or not to stick a new set of strings on it. I currently have TI flats which are fab but a bit I find them slightly "loose". I like the look of the Rotosound Jazz 77 strings I play in a christian group so looking for a nice smooth silky sound. Appreciate any thoughts Deaky
Try some Pyramid Gold Flats from StringStar - link and Basschat 10% off here.
 16.
I'm also now hoping that the CV I've ordered isn't too light! My Am standard is 9.4lbs ish.....and that is just fine. Si
The MIA Jazz that I used to have was over 10lbs - great sound though.
 17.
I wouldn't do it - there are plenty replacement necks which will fit right in there without you molesting a perfectly good neck of some historical note.
+1 - I can't see a good reason for doing this.
 18. Invisible and undescribed but will be sent by courier: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...ME:B:SS:GB:1123
 19.
Ooh, kinky!
I know
 20.
The Squier CV has completely taken over from my Lakland DJ4.
I've been at a weekend jam all day yesterday and today. I played my fretless P when needed for the song but other than that I played my Lakland only a couple of times - it was Squier all the way. And I'm not even much of a Jazz bass fan usually. These are definitely cracking basses. I've got mine wearing Pyramid Black Nylon Tapes.
 21.
How much does the CV weigh compared to the American Fender. Also, are there any dead spots ?

No dead spots on mine. Weighs 9.5 lbs.
My CV Jazz is 9lbs 4oz. No dead spots.
 22.
You mean, rather like this...TOTP That's one devilishly handsome bass player, don't you think? Still got the bass. Anyone know where I can get the electrics looked at?
Devilishly handsome and a nice bassline which I have to admit to having copied on more than one occasion.
 23. But +1 on a reissue Guild or DeArmond Starfire but replace the stock humbucker pickups with Dark Stars.
 24. Duesenberg Starplayer
 25.
lol i started on the HH Vs 100 too! theres one in a shop in cheltenham for like £90 which i nearly bought for the memories before slapping myself and realising that £90 seemed kinda steep for a memory trip!
Memories for some of you on this site: http://www.hhamplification.co.uk/
