Stop putting up pics or I really will have to take up fretless!
Sorry
The eBay description says "the pickguard has been shaved slightly just in front of the Jazz Pickup to stop your thumb being wedged" - you can see it, even though there's no close-ups. Its adjacent to the E string pole pieces on the Jazz pickup
Ah yes, I must remember to actually read what it says. I can see now. Call me fickle but I don't like it anymore. I'm a bit dubious about the idea of my thumb being wedged though.
Now your Tony Franklin is drop-dead and perfectly proportioned - as shown in Michael/wot's pic .... this on on eBay just looks a little cramped to me (and its a shame to have to shave off part of the s/p). Its probably a cracking bass, mind, and good value if you are happy with the looks
Well, Clarky, here's another of Michael's pics for your edification: Do you think the ebay one has something shaved off the scratchplate? I can't see that.

The J on my Tony Franklin is in (I guess) 70s position = 1 and 7/16 inches from base of the bridge. Bridge pickup on my Classic Vibe is (I guess) 60s position = 1 and 11/16 inches from base of the bridge. And on my American Deluxe P the neck side of the double J pickup is in 60s position but also extends nearer to the bridge of course = 1 inch from base of bridge:
I've never really understood why so many people dislike Sting. Regardless, the guy is a legend and people neglect his contribution to music. I mark him as a great influence on my playing.
I've got to admit to being annoyed by some things about him but I think you're correct about his songwriting and his bassplaying and his singing.
Think what you like about his tree-hugging, his tantric sex and his new beard - that bloke can sing. And he's no spring chicken. Little bass-player totally made up when Sting compliments him on his rendition of the bass part. Awwww! Thanks for posting this, wombatboter!
Yeah, that was good. I was more disturbed by the fisherman's jumper than the beard. And I would not have minded at all being that bassist.

Sold muzzer (Steve) my old Tascam Bass Trainer, fast payment, all neat and tidy. Deal with confidence.

Thanks very much.
Thanks Jamie, but I must add the strings came to me also free of charge from soopercrip (Andy).

Epiphone Zenith (formerly Triumph)
There was also a Gibson Les Paul Triumph Bass that pre-dated anything that Warwick ever produced. I would have thought that the name change is to avoid confusion with this.
Of course, I'd forgotten that one. -
My first gigging bass amp in 79-81 was one of these matched with an ex sound system 1x18 cab Loved the sound at the time.
I had one of those and a slave version too running two Electrovoice 1x15s in late '70s. It sounded great (at the time). I don't recall what happened to that rig, I certainly don't remember selling it.

I used to have a TSB-550 (32" scale) which was lovely. I regret selling it.
This is going to be called the 'Zenith' now,i assume Warwick kicked off because of their 'Triumph'. These still haven't left the factory yet. Just in case anyone is waiting for one. Trav
That's strange because there was an Epiphone Triumph from 1931 to 1970: Ok, so it was a 6-string not a bass but still Epiphone's name and I guess the reason they called this one the Triumph II.
