It doesnt matter how old you are, you can get better. If you start at forty you will probably never be as good as if you started at four but that doesn't matter.

But everyone will need to understand what is expected of them or it ain't going to work.

And isn't the second G natural played under an A chord making it flat seventh not flat third, in that case?
