If I was putting the bridge cover on then I would keep the BBOT. If I wasn't putting the bridge cover on then I would still keep the BBOT. Anyway, keep everything until you have played it for a while, including gigs. Maybe it won't need any minor upgrades. It's a Precision Bass, it's basic but it works - others may tell you a different story.

You can put any bass guitar strings on an acoustic bass guitar. Whether you like the feel and sound is another matter. I have a Takamine B10 with La Bella 760FS flats. Very nice, IMO. I used to have a Michael Kelly Dragonfly with Thomastik JF344 Jazz Flats. Also very nice, IMO. There are specific bronze acoustic bass guitar strings but, IMO, they sound and feel terrible.

I'm not aware of any black nylon tapewounds that are tapered. They vary in tension but are certainly not particularly tense and I have used them successfully on an acoustic bass guitar. The following all make black nylon tapewounds: La Bella Pyramid GHS Fender D'Addario Rotosound Picato Status ... and probably some others.

Therefore, you will likely finish paying around £1200-£1250 in total It's really not good value. And if you were to try to return it you will only recoup the £865.

We like the engineer. And he or she can fit in with the band as an extra member for the alotted time period.
