1. An upright bass has no saddles for separate strings because your ear is going to sort it out anyway. A fretless bass guitar usually has individual saddles but strictly doesn't need them.
 2.
Slam dunk! I love science!
I love it when my half-educated guess is called science!
 3. The octave harmonic should always be at the half length of the string but once you fret the note the trigonometry alters slightly dependent upon the gauge and construction of the string.
 4.
You then also have GAK in Brighton too, they had a pretty good selection last time I was there.
GAK do have an OK selection, but not quite in the class (or cost) of the Acoustic Music Company - which I think explains the 'Uh oh!' response.
 5. If you want a guitar buy a guitar. I don't see what the problem is.

 7.
Chris Coleman in my ears is such a fantastic drummer. very clever drumming.
I just listened to that again and, while I am sure he is a very talented drummer, it doesn't hold my interest at all.
 8. Not all upright bassists use a one finger technique but I'm pretty sure that's where Jamerson's right hand one finger hook originiates.
 9. Gretsch long scale case ... http://www.thomann.de/gb/gretsch_g6297_bass_ft_case.htm
 10. You could visit a shop that stocks Casady bass and try your bass in the case.

 12.
This, it's a cymbal endorsee video - of course he's hitting everything a lot. Not good, but understandable.
... and probably got nicely paid or rewarded in kind.
 13.
Ace!
Yes.
 14. Very good ... and that film Downfall is very good without the editing.
 15. Most basses are fine or one wouldn't have bought them in the first place. Give them a chance.
 16.
There were a lot of Hitler's personal friends who spoke very highly of him
But did they like his music?
 17.
Best not look at this photo then:
Have you posted that in the tonewoods thread?
 18.
Cant be bothered to read all this thread, but I found it intersting that .What a drummer this guy isnt' has 200 more views than 'What a drummer this guy is' even though they started within an hour of each other.
Maybe they couldn't bothered to read both threads.
