1. I don't normally post here but I love these basses so much. They have a real presence. Yes I know they are only reissues but I want to share them anyhoo.: Not sure about putting the chrome covers on the Jazz, any thoughts?
2. Hi, does the £20 per year marketplace subscription cover ALL of the selling places or is it £20 per forum? ie' basses for sale, related items for sale, amps etc'? just want to be sure. Thanks.
3. Nah, I waited for a reply but didn't get one
4. Where do all the wires go? My P just has one black and one white.
5. I played 12 string guitar and a bit of Mandolin since the 60's. I can't read music but am a pretty adaptable rhythm player. Then in 2007 arthritis set in on my knuckles which made chords and hitting people painful (joking) around that time our church band bass player moved south and we didn't have a replacement so as my wife also plays 12 string it was suggested that I learn bass. Knew nothing about them or how to play one so I bought a Mexican jazz, printed a bass neck diagram with all the notes marked and memorised it. I looked at some of the songs we do and it looked fairly easy...... It isn't!! I did quickly learn runs from one note to the next and I can accompany on a basic level without sounding too boring. Ann can read music so I just have the bass notes for songs written above the words I then add bits here and there to make it a bit more fluid and it works for the type of music that we do. I'd like to be better but I understand bass, it's not instinctive when you've played guitar for so long, I can't easily 'jam along' so I get despondent and lazy and just do what's needed. I'd like to learn things like lucy in the sky with diamonds or we gotta get out of this place, but I'm not sure how to do it as I can't read music. Plus I'm 66 so hardly ripe for a new career
6. Please put sold in the title, saves us all wasting time looking at something that's not there
7. Thread should be deleted as there is no price?

PA

Thanks for the advice, it's much appreciated. That Pulse system does look as though it'll be more than adequate. My wife preached there this morning and as she is quietly spoken I took her Marshall AS50 acoustic guitar amp along and that worked fine.

PA

Hi, I hope this is the right place..... One of the small chapels in our circuit has no PA system, they have very little money either and I want to help. It is a small country chapel with a regular congregation of around 20 - 30 mostly elderly and slightly deaf people. The church itself is just a square box and a man with a loud voice would manage ok. So the question is, what would you recommend? Something around 100w would be fine, we'd need a lecturn mic stand + a portable stand & a radio mic too. Budget of around £150 - to £250. any thoughts or advice very welcome. Thanks. edit* would something like this be ok? It's only for speech. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pulse-2-x-100w-DJ-PA-System-Kit-Package-speakers-amplifier-inc-mic-cables-/271155700306#vi-content

12. Hurrah!! don't have to buy another now
13. Pablo is the man! Bought my Geddy Jazz. Fast payment, super friendly emails and a credit to basschat. Highly recommended chatter. cheers my friend. Tom.
14. It has slight sideways play due to the mighty mite not being the 2.5 inches advertised Not a lot but makes the neck really awkward to fit with it slopping about slightly.
15. Thanks chaps, pretty much as I thought except I'm on my own. No magic then
16. in place so it doesn't move while I mark where the holes go? I'm sure it's real easy but I can't see it without possible damage to the frets. Also what size is the pilot drill hole ? Thank you.
17. Had 3 pm's already.... Not got yours Muzz?
18. Do you have a price yet for the MIM P?
19. Rules state that you must put a price up. They were being sold new as low as £220 about a year ago then the price shot up suddenly. I know this because I bought one
20. Cheers Mac, I really enjoyed doing it too, just bought a mighty mite maple neck for it, (that one was borrowed from my MIM) so I'll do some pics of the finished object soon.
21. Could you put sold in the title please? That'll save us looking at something that's not there. cheers.
22. Mel that looks really good Some nice examples there.
