  1. No, he's spent the money sadly. 2.5 lbs actually Paul.
  2. I actually have a 2007 Teal and maple 'ray that weighs 8.2 lbs!
  3. I've only just got this having been told twice that it weighs 8.5 lbs, it really does not! The real weight of this beautiful bass is 10.85 lbs. Which is why I'm selling it. I'm 74 with a glass shoulder and a very bad back. This is a quality reissue of the 1976 Stingray, When Mr Fender started the company. It has the dampers and the white pickup cover to finish it off, in the flesh (or wood) it looks amazing and plays wonderfully well being a 2eq. I can't tell you how disappointed I am over this bass, I love it and you will too. The price includes delivery. ****I should add that the only trade I would consider is another Stingray that weighs 8.5 lbs, 2eq, Maple board.**** Please buy it.
  4. I really am unhappy at having to leave negative feedback and can only tell the truth. I bought the Fiesta red Stingray with that gorgeous birdseye maple neck from Col on the clear understanding that it weighed 8.5 lbs. He weighed it on his old scales and said it was around 8.5 lbs, I said are you really sure? Col said he'd ordered a set of Salter scales from Amazon and when they arrived he confirmed that it was 8.5 lbs on them too so I agreed to buy it. Couldn't wait, it's a wonderful bass so imagine my surprise when I picked it up out of the case, it felt heavy to me so I got my digital postal scales out and the reality is that it weighs 10.85 lbs! Felt like it too. I'm 74 with a glass shoulder and a very bad back so it's useless to me. I immediately contacted him to return it but he's spent the money. I never spend the money until I know my customer is satisfied. I don't think that 2 sets of scales can be exactly 2.5 lbs out. The upshot is that I cannot recommend Col to deal with because I feel that I've really been let down. Tom.
  5. Oh no.... same as my current Stingray.
  6. What's the weight please?
  7. yes, there was a thread with a lot of replies, I was looking at all the suggestions, I didn't put this one up? Gremlins in the machine maybe??
  8. I had the short scale passive that was on sale here, it was USA and I sold it on as it was very underwhelming. It just felt dull and lifeless to me after my Stingray. Not impressed for what they cost. That's just me though..
  9. No worries, glad it's not maple.
  10. The maple board looks a bit rosewood'ish Thank the Lord or I would have to have bought it.
  11. Thanks guys, it's a great playing bass but I'm saving for a Sandberg Superlight as my neck and shoulder have taken a turn for the worse.
  12. Here for sale is my Sterling By Music Man SB14 bass. The serial number dates the bass to 2010. I am the second owner, Ead being the first. The bass came with a satin black hand painted pickguard but I hate black so it now sports a Luvverly Pearl one. the SB14 Bass Features: · Body: Basswood · Neck: Maple · Fingerboard: Maple · Pickups: Music Man Humbucking with ceramic magnets and a hum-cancelling phantom coil · Preamp: 3-band Active Preamp: Volume, Treble, Mid, Bass · Bridge: Music Man designed · Tuners: Open Gear The maple fingerboard has been beautifully finished and the fret work is excellent too. The frets themselves have barely any visible wear. This particular bass weighs in at bang on 9lbs by my digital scales. This bass has a lovely low action too. The 3-band EQ plus pickup coil switching allow three options: Parallel for the classic Stingray sound; single coil with phantom coil (for hum cancelling); and series options. The bass comes with an SBMM gig bag; probably the best gig bag I've come across with nice soft and thick padding. I can post it for an extra £15 These SBMM basses get a lot of love online. Thanks for looking.
  13. Thanks guys, some stuff there that I didn't know about, I'll go and investigate and report back when I have something.
  14. Looking for something P shaped, bright red with a maple board. I have made a few like this but were made of cheap parts and would like something professional and good. Off the shelf preferred. /discuss.

  16. Thanks for the comments guys. It is sad that we have to go to these lengths to carry on playing These screens aren't expensive for what they are.
  17. Hi all, We have had issues like a lot of people about playing and singing safely but I found a good way forward that now allows us to start playing in our church again. Screens that attach to your mic stand using the mic clip. Very simple and very effective as you can see in the pics. It can be attached using the centre position or left or right hand side, and using the mic stand boom I have an ipad strapped to it as well. These are really well made are were invented by John, who is CEO of Scott Dixon inc, in Hull. Very approachable guy, you can have a chat with him if you want something a bit different too. Their main business is making guitar cases designed to stay safe in WW3. Just thought you might like to know...
  18. What's the weight please?
  19. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Precision-Bass-Special-The-Precision-1979/333752224720?hash=item4db52ecbd0:g:MJsAAOSww5ZdxsjS Sorry if it's been posted but I didn't see it. Fantasy land innit?
  20. What does it weigh Keir?
  21. I have one and that's a steal!! Fantastic cabs. GLWTS Ash.
  22. Thanks for the info, I did find the website but was just looking for more info and peoples experience with them too. I was looking at the black Ray but I left it too long as usual. Interesting to note but they do 2 pseudo maple boards now, also the ray necks are over £400 with the vat. Are they much harder to fit than wood?
  23. Cheers for that.
  24. Hi, I wonder if someone could explain these necks please? I gather they are not wooden? Fretboard etc', headstock is made of? I assume they are not adjustable? I know nothing... ( and I'm not from Barcelona either) Thanks folks.
